What's up with this forum, it's gone nuts today. Sorta like the maternity ward 9 months after a big snow storm!!! (So I thought I'd add one more thread)

Ooops , my bad. How does our yard look....

http://groups.msn.com/armorama/porkchopsarmor.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=11273

Mrs. Porkchop is driving.
I got Verlinden's 1:1 scale do-it-youself-yard with PE Trees (I haven't done them yet). The truck is by Ford, but looks a little out of scale. We might add resin tires to replace the pre-recall Wilderness ATs.
Sculpting on the driver was top-notch though.
I think the Ford designers left of brake lines off, I should be able to get them aftermarket.
The drag is scratch built, but I can't find reference photos of that type of drag in actual service.....

It looks too clean. Needs weathering. Maybe the salt technique (NOOOOOOOOO!!!). #:-)

Hilarious post, Col. PorkChop. :-)

Nice Post. Nate. I love your modeling effort on the whole lawn projects. the Ford truck is dead on, and the figure is by far your best effort.

I'm glad I saw a Ford vs a materinity ward 9 months after a snow storm.

And I think you should try static grass. I might be hard to shake of the excess though.

Dude, the whole thing needs to be redone. The white on the Ford is all wrong, that shade wasn't available that year. The cement in the . so cal;led, sidewalk, (yeah, that looks like asidewalk, shuh!) is way too light and too smooth. The dirt, well, we don't even have to go into how poorly done that is. And the house...do you think anyones's gonna believe that even LOOKS like a house? About the only thing in this tha ALMOST works is the flag, and that's obviously a preprinted item. #:-)

Seriously, it looks like the nice neighborhood in Bardstown KY where my wife's best frind from college lives.

SS: Yeah it's a resin figure from Warriors "Norwegian Battle Godess"
Part-Timer: We try to stay away from the salt technique as much as possible. Up in these parts it leads to rust after a long winter.
Slodder: How many of those little bags of static grass will I need?
AJ: The sidewalk is from Custom Dioramics, you're right, I'm gonna return it for a full refund. House is Verlinden's "Cookie-Cutter American Suburban Ranch." Good call on the flag, made that on the computer!!!

Now had DML made ANY of this stuff it would have been German and Mrs. PC would have been wearing a camo smock.

Thanks guys, I actually had a lot of fun with this post, it's not meant to belittle anything we do in this forum, but just something a little more light -hearted.

Thanks for the awsome responses, Mrs. Porkchop will undoubtedly call me a "dork" when she reads this thread.

Lord Pork

Great thread, but a couple things:

"Yeah it's a resin figure from Warriors "Norwegian Battle Godess" ----> Boy are you a "smoothie"---Ms. P. is gonna love you for that one!.

The Truck----is that a snap kit????

just kidding Nate.

PorkChop, If you need any water effects for your 1:1 scale diorama, let me know. We have plenty in my neck of the woods. Marion, Indiana, my home town, has just declared a flood emergency and the whole state is getting ready to be declared a Federal Disaster area. Let me know how much water you need...

Keenan: Naw it's be the wrong water for the day that photo was taken. June water was much different that July water. You can get a Shiffer book for $76 telling you the difference in B&W photos of the water production plant.

WWH: Nope it was glued together. 2-part epoxy and CA glue....
