PvtParts
Nice job, as far as easing back - you're doing a good job.
Constructive comments would be you could be to add a bit more to the tires. I would recommend a light AB spray of Tamiya Buff (dusty color). And then go over it with some pastels. (if you go for mud vs dust use a burnt umber/brown color).
Take a bit of time and add some crew use wear and tear on the fenders and steps. Dry brush on some under coat color for worn look, dry-brush on some ground color for dirty look.
One thing that would set off the gas tanks is a bit of gas stains. Use a very thin wash of black and drip it around the fill spout.
Not sure what the tanker carries, you could also add some spill stains around the big spouts too. Just use a complementary wash color.
Keep up the good work.

Hey PvtParts, it's looking very nice. I knew you still had it. Sort of like riding a bike, right? Except now, there are sooo many more techniques to just peddling. Lots of different kinds of weathering techniques to try out. I like what you've done so far.
Keep up the nice work.

It's coming along nicely. A little trick I do to the tires is to mix a lilttle dark earth and desert sand to some clear flat to use for mud. I apply it to the tread areas and before it totaly dries I follow with some straight flat clear to remove some of the mud so that it stays in the deep treads and the side walls will show more of the grey or black base color. I use a brush for this process.

looks good mate. Just watch the application of the decals as the star on the door of the last pic looks out of plumb. As the truck carried water the paint around the spouts and in runs down the side would have been real faded. Wheels - do the side walls in a very dark grey leaving pure black in the grooves and on the tread.

Thanks for all the positive input.Cliff , I was kinda hoping no one noticed the decal..I didnt realize it until I saw the photo also. A picture tells the story..I blame it on the factory worker downing to many Shlitz's at work during the war effort (hic)

Cliff, As far as the fading where the water would run down. Would you dry brush the OD going with more and more white with each step?
