Hello! Here are my final contributions to this campaign:

Panther:

Stuart:

Shot at 2010-06-12

and Panzerjäger IV:

@ firstcircle: Panther and Stuart are obviosuly masked with Tamiya-tape, the Panzerjäger is entirely freehand. I used super-fine artists airbrush color for the brown spots in order to achieve quite hard edges.

@ tread geek: It is actually my plan to complete the full series of matchbox tanks. Over the last two years I´v been collecting and building those, and right now there are only six kits left to do for me! Expect a major update on this site when I have completed all of them later this year (or maybe next year, if I get lazy).

This campaign was a great experience for me and it was a pleasure to see all your great builds and maybe also act as an inspiration for some of you. Hopefully we can have a shot a similar retro-topic in a future campaign.
Thanks for your interest! Still some days to go, don´t dissapoint me, comrades!

Nice job Max! I especially like the paint job on the Panther and the Stuart. Very good weathering too. After seeing the Panther I might have to try out the stripy cammo myself on one.
I'm off to the airshow at RAF Cosford tomorrow and theres bound to be lots of model traders. I'm hoping to pick up a Stuart and the Char B1/FT17 if I can.

@NWBrit - Your kit is really coming along and like others I can't wait to see the final result.

@Maxiplus - You definitely have been an exceptional inspiration to those participating in this campaign. If I could I'd award you the campaign ribbon with gold clusters and swords.

As for me, I finished the decals yesterday and boy were they a chore. Some were so small and had to go into almost inaccessible locations.

I have applied the second gloss coat and painted the tracks their base colour. Once everything is dry I'll put the tracks on and start some weathering and detail painting. BTW, I couldn't help but think that those huge white stars make an impressive aiming point.

Cheers,
Jan

Well I'm now away from home for a few days and so my personal deadline is now passed. But I managed to at least finish my entry and get it painted and as far as I can tell post the relevant pictures in the campaign gallery

Below are a few final photos. I have to admit the in progress shots suffered a bit this week due to the last minute rush.

Thanks to all the others who's entries have proved a very real inspiration. And thanks especially to Jan for an excellent first campaign for me that has proved to be most enjoyable

Chris

Everything mostly assembled at last and still playing around with the layout. Although the base looks quite big to start with it is a bit of a squeeze when you get down to it.

The Dingo assembled and sporting its base coat.

And the final entry with about the only arrangement I could get to work.

Well done Chris and congratulations on your first campaign. May you enjoy many more. You have been awarded your first ribbon and can see it on your Profile page.

With the clock ticking....here are the current standings with a full 19 people completing their builds.

I have a bit more to do on my base and want to hi-light and weather the M40 some more.

I certainly hope that we'll see a hive of activity here in the next/last couple of days.

Cheers,
Jan

Excellent work! I really like the stuart (one of the few matchbox kits that has eluded me so far) The weathering is very good. The Jagdpanzer IV is nicely done. I really like the color accent on the base with the faded blue door and timbers. All excellent.

Jan -- quite an impressive turnout, and an excellent roster of builds if I may say. Did we get to have all of the Matchbox kits built for the campaign?

Again, its been a great campaign. Thanks for leading this.

Here's my bonus build. Bought this together with the Jagdpanther so I thought of finishing it as well, rather than consigning it to the stash. Hope you don't mind -- added some more pics in the gallery.

Cheers,

Tat

@ tatbaqui - fabulous job on the Panzerjager. Your painting really makes it seem like a much larger than 1/76 kit.

@ madmax5510 - I've aways loved the Wespe (built four of my own in the past) and you did a great job on the painting. The officer figure is particularly impressive.

I unfortunately haven't kept track of all the extra builds and we have almost 20 pages of posts in this campaign. At this point I "think" the only kit that hasn't appeared in these pages is the Diamond T Tractor with Rodgers trailer PK174 (two were scheduled to be built) and a Panzer II kit PK81. If I have the time I'll go back through the pages and try to confirm my rough guess on this issue.

I'm just about finished my base and will start on the final detailing on the M40 this evening.

If anyone is REALLY close to finishing, just post a picture in the official gallery I'd really like to hand out more ribbons.

Cheers,
Jan

Wow, lots of great builds since the last time I checked the thread!!

@maxiplus: great stuff!! Love the Stuart and the paintjob you did on that one.

@stephen willdig: same kit as I'm doing. I'm almost done. Still have the decals and some finishing touches to do.

@chris: nice job on Monty's Caravan. I built that one a long, long time ago. Great kit!

As I said, I'm very close to being done. Hope to have some pictures of my Comet uploaded tonight.

Someone PM'd me about the actual closing date and time of the campaign. To clarify, while the campaign ends on the 15 th of this month (June) I forgot to mention that the 15 th is definitely included as a building day.

Just put the final weathering wash on my comet and its base. Little wet and glossy at the minute but I'm hoping it will be dry and ready for photo's tomorow morning.
Its been great fun taking part in this and seeing so many of these models built to such a high standard.

Alright everyone, I'm calling my Comet done. I may have to shoot it with one more coat of dullcote to fix the decals on the turret. Anyway, here are my (pretty bad) pictures, and yes, these are of one and the same model.

Great campaign everyone!! I had a lot of fun and relived a lot of childhood memories, even though I only got one kit done. I will definitely build a few more from my stash this summer. Thanks for hosting Jan!

Thanks Jan. It looked like this before it got into a tub of paint remover:

I fiddled with @firstcircle's toothpaste method but couldn't get it to stick properly -- more practice I guess (or a better toothpaste). I finally settled to airbrushing it freehand.

Exceptional builds guys!

Cheers,

Tat

Gents! Some very nice bilds in here! I'm sure the feature Jan will be writing will be a stunner, especially once people realize that these are Matchbox kits!

So, will we do the same with Airfix kits (maybe with a little more scratchwork allowed)?

Cheers!

Oh - and I thought I only had one more evening's work. That makes a big difference . . .

Even with the extra month extension it just wasn't going to happen for me this time . . . This is as far as I have gotten on this build to date. Next comes the painting. Although the campaign is over I will finish my build and post a few photos in the Braille Scale forum.

Ready for paint.

Added grab handles, antennas, lights and raised the suspension a bit to match photos and box art.

The little time that I was able to spend thus far on this build has been enjoyable for me. From all of the posts here it looks like it has been an enjoyable and fun endeavor for everyone involved in this campaign too. I especially have enjoyed viewing everyone's builds. Awesome stuff! Thank you Jan, for hosting this campaign and also for those not mentioned I would like to extend my appreciation for making this site available to all of us.

Got the last finishing touches done and got some decent photos's taken. I fifnished the model in the markings of the 2nd Devonshire Regiment, 231st Infantry Brigade, Germany 1945. Hope you all like them. Thanks again Jan for heading this campaign, its been tons of fun and hope you do more in the future.

Some marvellous last minute additions here. There are a number of extra build pictures that I just haven't had time to download for the future feature. So I have a request for everybody.

Could you all PLEASE leave your pictures available in this thread until next week.

I'll do my best to add them to another gallery that I have for the feature.

Most of you should already see the campaign ribbon on your profile pages. I will keep checking throughout today and make appropriate additions.

Cheers,
Jan

How do I add pics to the campaign gallery? I know a few people have asked earlier and were given directions on but I can't find where going back through the pages.

So here are the standings as of this posting.

And here's a few shots of the completed M40.

I'm pretty certain that I didn't miss anyone but just in case, let me know. I'll keep checking the campaign thread for a couple of days for comments. If you are bit late posting a picture here or in the official gallery I won't hold it against you.

Cheers,
Jan
