Might attempt to work on the base tomorrow but that will have to wait and see how the leg feels
Hey Sal, how's the ankle doing? I still need to hobble my way into Big Yellow Storage to retrieve my entry for this campaign before I can start building! However, I have finally abandoned the crutch, so the physiotherapy is paying off...

I am going to build the italeri BergPanther, I know not the most accurate model I could build but it does look the part. Tank hull will be OOB with some scratch and on the winch throughout.

I am about to make a start on this;
And while not the most accurate kit it will be built using some scratch work on the host and pulleys I will also be using AM barrels from RB Model for the 20mm and also 2 MGs. I am using the trojca books Tank Power 2 and 3 as ref material, I know some people don't like them but with 8 books dedicated to the Panther I can live with it.

I like the idea for your diorama however it is very flat, as a rule other than still water very little is flat. You may be able to address this with some rocks or a wall, something to break up the conformity.

Hi Guys,
Thank. Took Darren's advice and added some rock piles then I remembered that I had an oil barrel sitting on my workbench and added that.
Now if I only had a figure that I could make taking a leek behind the tent.
Cheers

That has helped improve the diorama and I am happy that you feel it is an improvment as well.

Hey gang,
I've been busy up to now, but my first entry for this campaign will be AFV Club's M88A1G.
I'll be adding an interior since there are so many lovely big hatches!
And if time permits I'll also get moving on an M31 conversion using the Legends resin set and a Tamiya M3 Grant hull...

Scott,
The tracks on the Panther II are too loose (live track is tensioned tight).
Also, there is too much of a gap between the bow plate of the hull and the roller mounting bracket. The connecting shackles seem to have too much space (pictures from Prime Portal):
I hope this helps...

thanks
the recovery part might be a bit of a problem, the bones are not touching each other so nothing will grow together. If no improvement is seen within 2 weeks, they need to connect both ends with a plate. The idea of an operation is not very pleasing.
In the mean time I have to keep my arm moving to prevent the muscles from all getting stuck according to the doctor. So I am doing some therapeutic modelling on the interior of my VT-72B for about 30 minutes a day. I am glad I prepared all the parts before I broke my collar bone. I'll post some pics when the interior is finished.
cheers from a roasting hot Netherlands!

you are totally right! I will instruct my opponents to keep in mind that I have modelling as a hobby
On the other hand, I am glad I have no itchy cast around my leg at the moment, it's about 35 degrees C here at the moment. I think I can fix warped resin by just putting the parts in the sun

Hi all,
My italeri Bergetiger is coming up fine. Finished off the zimmerit and did the base dark yellow last night.
a) Anyone has a nice pic of Bergetiger camo? I know the one the Brits found in Italy was monotone though. I vaguely remembered seeing someone making a brown and yellow camo one on the net many years ago.
Will be going on to the wash...
Cheers
