Hey all, just wanted to give a small update(no pictures), but I have started to paint the figures, the first one I so far have done in oils and acrylics. I wanted to see if I could do the body with oils and how well it would come out and so far so good, but they are still wet, so I will get some pictures by tonight! Any help on how to get oils to dry any faster????? Its killing my patience!!

Johnathon

Hi Johnathon,
The roof look well for me, you need make vertical cuts for simulating the tile roof
the door is reversed, the part with horizontal bars is normally inside the houses.
good effort

More pictures man. You are inspiring me. Great work. You could have the kubelwagon on blocks with the tires removed or the whole thing burnt out. 4 flats seems like too much I guess.

Hi Jonathon,
I'm not at all a diorama builder, but I'am fashinated with what you guys can build out of "thin air"...
I have a question for you: what kind of roof do you have in mind? Are you thinking of terracotta tiles? If so, have you seen the tutorial here on Armorama on making this kind of tiles?
https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/376
Also this diorama has a quite useful explanation on how to make terracotta tiles which, in my opinion, are also more accurate than the one described in the tutorial.

Thank you toby and edoardo for the kind words!! Toby I am glad my build has been an inspiration for you, Im very happy to hear that. I have been working on it slowly the past couple weeks, just havnt posted any pictures. So here are a few! Hope everyone likes it so far......All comments welcome.......
NOTE: Ignore the color of the wall, it will be a beige, that is just an undercoat method I use!!!
The last two pictures show the roof painted and weathered. I am only worried about one thing with the roof.....should I lighten it up alittle? I think I may have given it too dark of a wash. What do you all think?? (Edoardo, as you can see I just used the regular tiling method. But I do want to try the terracotta method soon! Thanks for the help)
I do have a couple of figures in progress, but I dont have any pictures yet........I have been painting them with oils(for the first time) I usually just use oils for the face but this time I thought Id try the whole body.

Johnathon

Hey all, well it finally happened to me......I had a minature disaster! My little sister(5yrs. old) was watching me work on my kubelwagon, since she thinks my models are cool, and she backed up and bumped right into the diorama.......knocked off half of the roof shingles, about 25 shingles, and the roof base came off the wall just a bit. I guess it was bound to happen, but why this diorama????
How I do love my sister!!
OH WELL.......I will have an update tommorrow on my kubelwagon......I just had to fume a bit!

Johnathon
