This one was a weekend build about 5 years ago. Tamiya's classic German 7.5cm Pak 40 L/46 anti-tank gun. Built OOB with no additions. Used a little putty on the gun tube seam, but thats it. Airbrushed with Modelmaster (SAC Tan) base coat, and airbrushed camo (Modelmaster Medium Green). This kit was intended for a small vignette for Normandie 1944, with some 12th SS HJ figures for a crew. I have the Dragon set, but they are not a Pak 40 crew. There are others out there from Warriors and Royal Model, which I do have but have not decided on yet. Still as a future project.

Cheers !!!

Robert

Another nice job...and in only a weekend! I like the subtle camo. Keep em coming. It's great to see other's work.
I remember building that one many years ago, before I discovered how cool OD green is.

Robert, do have a photo editing program? One could greatly improve your pics. I took the liberty to use Paint Shop Pro to "brighten" your pic a little. You can see the difference and how your model's details come to light. Here is a thread that has some links to a couple free downloads of editing programs. HERE

Kencelot. Those are older pics too. They were taken last Fall by a friend at a Nordland AMPS meeting. He took them with digital camera, but the lighting at the meeting was poor. He has since then bought a "new improved model" digital and comes to the meetings with a desk lamp to better the lighting conditions. Thanks for the advice on the downloads, I will look into it. Honestly, would rather spend the time taking new pics for the Pak 40 vignette, if and when its finished. I will be post ing a few other pics of some WWII Russian armor next, and a more recent work, a very-late war Panther Ausf G. Its still in-prog, but it looks like its on a factory assembly line. It even has the Red Oxide primer !!

Take care !!

Alpenflage

Just picked up the same kit myself... You are right about it being a quick build.. I built the upper half in about two hours.. Just have to finish the trailer and blow on some paint... Also picked up a hanomag Sdkfz 251/1.. thought about having the gun being towed...

Mojo. When I originally built this Pak 40 kit, I intended to have a Tamiya Sd Kfz 251 Ausf D towing it. Actually, I have that very kit under contruction (as a Sd Kfz 251/5), which you just reminded me of ! But, then I 'switched' the intended role to a Normandie 1944 setting with the HJ Division. I have the 2 Warriors Waffen SS Pak 40 crews, so I think I may take the #2 set and use that. My other idea was to use 2 Royal Model 12th SS figures in a more 'relaxed' pose. They seem like I could use them as opposed to creating an 'in action scene'. Any diorama, even if its a small vignette, should tell a story. This keeps the viewer 'interested'. Vignettes are perfect settings for a kit like the Pak 40.

Thanks for all the positive comments gents. It motivates me to work harder !!

Cheers !
