Robert,
Thanks for pointing me to this build log - what a stunning build! You mentioned camera focus problems, and I too find that all-white plastic "tricks" the autofocus on my camera. Also, the white "whites out" the exposure meter, so all detail is lost. I try to take "raw plastic" shots in shade outside, where there is lots of light (increases depth of field) to reduce the blurring. Clamp the camera on a tripod, use a timer or shutter release, and avoid direct sunlight!. Of course, most of the grief goes away once the white plastic has paint on...
Will the whole drivetrain hang down under the body, like on a truck? Or do the prop shafts pass inside the box like on German ACs? (Or does anybody actually know?...)
Tom

Tom from what read and the few photos that I have seen the chassis is hidden underneath like on most vehicles. The one note is that the wheels and suspension were attached directly to the hull per American Armored Fighting Vehicles by George Bradford.

Robert,
If you could get hold of the Italeri BA 6 Russian armored car I think it would be pretty similar since I believe it's based on this design...I think it's made by Italeri anyway?
The chassis components would give you a good idea of design etc...I would think the kit would be inexpensive no?
Just a thought....cool idea and nice model.
Paul
PS Get yourself some colored poster board and make a small box around the model, say a light blue color, this should help with the pics, and always use a tripod, makes a big difference.

With my school workload I decided to use Zvezdas Ba3 components in finishing my T1. After looking at the pictrure of the kit I could not believe how similar the two are, wheels, chassis, bumpers, fenders, and with a little of my help and various parts might just give me a boost with this build

I recieved Zvezda's 1/35 Ba3 in the mail today and after looking in the box I now will be able to finish My build (cheating a little bit) by using many of the kits parts. Photos to follow.

I pulled the project down off the shelf since it was put up for lack of documentation and skill on my part. I have aquired better skills after participating on several campaigns here and after looking at the BA 3s parts and found out that I could use much of the kit.
1. started removing the scratch chassis yuck!
2. the kit chassis is sooooo nice and correct from what I can see in the photos.
3. a try at using the kit fenders and modify into the M1s type.
4. Zevdas BA3
5. I can use much of the parts here but the kit wheels are 5 lug where the M1 had 6 lugs and the kit wheel has 5 holes where the M1 has 8. The kit tires are too thin according to the drawings for the M1.

Hello Steph,
I will need to look at the kit that you have suggested, from the boxes painting they lool like the wheels may work.
Thanks.

@ Mauro: thanks for pointing that out, I guess that some putty and drilling out 8 spoke holes is the only answer.
