Hi Guys,
Would anyone have a picture of the type of ammo boxes the British Airborne Troops used used for the 75mm rounds for the Pack Howitzer?
Many thanks
Al

Hey Al,
Don't think this is any help, I'm not sure it's the correct kinda crate.
Verlinden used to do a set of ammo for the Tamiya 75mm M8 HMC howitzer but I can't find a photo of the set.
These sites may be of assistance:
U.S. Army Models 75mm Pack Howitzer
World War II Gyrene 75mm Pack Howitzer
I hope that's of some help.
Cheers

Hi John,
Thanks for the links, sorry about the typo in the heading .
Not sure if the British Boxes their own ammo or just used the standard American crates.
Thanks
Al

Resicast has just announced an Update and Accessory set for the Vision Pack 75 that includes UK-specific parts and ammo. You can check the pics out at PMMS.

Like others here and at "Ding", my two day search has yielded quite a few photos of Pack 75's in use. All are surrounded by piles of the fiber tubes, and no crates except the one shown here by John, which I believe is a pre war photo probably taken state side due to what appears to be a WC-40 pick up in the background, and the fatigue hats worn by the troops.
These Marines appear to be man handling the bundle of fiber tubes at Tarawa.
Hope that helps.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the pic, Resicast have the 3 stacked tubes as shown, perhaps that's how the rounds came and not in boxes.
Al
