If I remember correctly, members can't see campaign proposals until approved. If so, then you should give details about your campaign in this thread.

Is this still a viable idea? If so, can we have the usual proposal details? (Assuming you want models of trucks in NWE, I'd be interested.)

I may be wrong, but I believe you need to have at least ten expressions of interest here before the Powers that Be will consider a campaign request.

Regards,

Tom

Here's what is on the campaign proposal.

Operational Overview
following d-day invasion in june 1944 the allied troops advanced onthe continent towards the german territories with remarkable speed however, the far they proceeded away from the normandy depot , the more difficult the logistical support of fuel ammunition, rations ect became the red ball express was from aug 25 to november 16 1944 ...... now we all know i can type whats in the history books i want to see what you can come up with most of the convoys were 6x6 gmc trucks loaded with fuel and ammo, making a mad dash to get what our men needed to the front

The Rules and Regs
must have atlest one 6x6 gmc truck(can add as many as you like, even throw in a jeep or 2) loaded with jerry cans or fuel drums or ammo trucks ,

Contest Element
2 photos for a ribbon

Jim & Gary,

Is the silence ominous? Or does it just mean this proposal slipped under the radar?

Time will tell. I think everyone is busy finishing up campaign builds as well as dealing with the Holidays. People will get back to their normal lives after the New Year.

Dunno about this one, after all there were many other truck types used on the Red Ball convoys along with the 6x6 GMC

Jim,

Ian has a point. I'd like to see a lot of Jimmies come out of this too (I have several to offer in my stash), but perhaps we shouldn't close the door to Dodges etc, and it would be nice to see some of the other convoy vehicles for variety (Jeeps and such as convoy escort?). However, for "non standard" stuff perhaps you could require some evidence that the vehicle type was indeed used on the convoys? That would stop the inevitable "they might have loaded a captured Tiger with supplies" arguments...

great idea I love doing soft skin and the odd stuff that's behind the front line. But don't limit it to the GMC's. As long as a person can provide documentation that the item was involved in the 8 ball express it should be aloud. Jeeps, Dodges, dio of a supply dump ect. ect. If I can find something I'll be in.

Is this going through. Just got a GMC 2 1/2 Ton 6x6 for my birthday. It will be perfect for the campaign.

I'd definitely be interested depending on the timing of the campaign. My campaign schedule is booked through early 2011.
