Now I really want this kit Love the early war stuff.

This kit was a lot of fun to build and to review. I'm preparing it for priming right now and I hope to get everything primed by tomorrow evening if I have enough time.

thank you for the review. It is really clear and the car looks like a nice kit to build. However, a little nitpicking from my side regarding the wheels.

This picture from www.wwiivehicles.com shows one of the cars included in the kit. However, in my opinion it looks like it has the same wheels as included in the kit.



In contrast, another picture from www.wwiivehicles.com shows another car (also included in the kit) that shows the wheels like in the referencepicture included in your review.



So to conclude my nitpicking , these pictures suggests that at least two types of wheels existed for these cars, at least one type is included in the kit, but maybe i'm wrong.

You're correct, at least two types of wheels existed. I have collected about 55 photos and I have only seen two different types of wheels. The ones in the first picture you posted are different than the ones in the kit. Here's a bigger picture of those:



The ones that are included in the kit are always seen looking different on pictures in the way that I have mentioned. It's really no big deal but something that could have been avoided.

spaarndammer, I have only taken one picture of most of the parts last Friday before I primed them.



I don't have adequate means to properly light my models so I didn't bother posting a build log, I hate the quality of my pics.
If you look closely at the front left side of the main hull, you will see that I had a bit of a debacle. While I was fitting the grille cover to the front hull I was having problems securing it with glue. I decided to use CA, which after application ran down the side of the engine hood and ended on the front left side of the main hull. It made a huge mess which was hard (and in the end impossible) to rectify. After priming the model I saw that it's not as bad as I thought. What is still visible will be obscured by the Panzer Grey / Dark Brown camouflage and some pigments and chipping. No biggy . I am currently working on the interior, it has been base coated with XF-1. I don't have much time so I'll only be able to continue on monday.

Maybe the after-market will step in and release corrected versions of both wheels in a single set. They came to the rescue on the MAZ 537 transporter tire issue pretty quickly. Having seen both sets in the pictures you provided I'm partial to the look of the wider tires and deeper wheels. They just look more aggressive and obviously cross country capable.

(I think my former life as a model car builder is showing.)

I did notice what you said about the hubs being short on the kit and protruding rather prominently in the photos. Regardless, thanks for the great review. This is another must have to add to my want list!
