Hi all,

Here are some pictures of my latest project

The Tasca firefly:

I've add 3 resin update sets from Armoured Brigade Models (ABB). The turret, upperhull and transmission cover.
which can be seen herehttp://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/abm.htm

I've also added the bronco 25pnd ammo boxes on the turret radio box.

The details on the Resin parts are sharper en the structure on the hull and turret looks very nice

Good Morning...

Superb model, Martin. Very nice. A joy to see !

Just a couple of doubts:

1.- I´ve never built a Tasca model, but I´m always reading good news about them... I would like to know your personal opinion about the quality / "performance" of the tracks that come with the model.

2.- I know maybe I´m anticipating, but... I would also like to know how are you going to "process" the tracks (weathering)...

It´s just curiosity, Martin... and learning, of course

Let me add some multimedia-entertainment related with a Firefly, just for fun:

Nice tank! Roberto: I've built three Tasca Shermans and I like their tracks very very much. I never feel the need to replace the ones Tasca gives in the kit itself.

Thanks all:

@ Darryl, The ABM parts are a gem. The details are identical to museum photos.

@ Roberto, The Tasca Shermans are great. they are really easy to build and fits really good.
I've only primed my tracks with black primer and spared a Red-Brown colour on them. I will make some pictures when weathering.

@ David, someone gave me the tip of the gamesworkshop vernis. And I must admit it works great.

Good Afternoon to you all,

Thank you, Martin... as we can see your model is going "hot stuff" by moments ...

Thanks also to you, Roy, for your feedback about the tracks...

If someone is interested in reading about applying filters & washes over a satin surface, you can get that article "written by Master MIG Jiménez" here:

WASHES & FILTERS: DIFFERENCES & HOW TO

In my back to static modelling after a loooong absence, I´ve readen a lot of techniques that were unknown to me (thanks to Internet & people that shares their knowledge)... currently I´m building an "Ostfront Extravaganza" : a Lend-lease Ford GPA captured by Germans (and, of course, repainted )...

Well, this little one Beute-Ford GPA by the moment has allowed me to practice these techniques (( )) :

* To work with a Double Action airbrush.
* To apply different shadows with the airbrush.
* To apply the SALT chipping technique (to simulate a badly applied paint // bad quality paint).

And I´m just about to try the technique of applying first a layer of glossy / satin varnish and then making the filters and washes... and after this is done, I suppose that after that, we need to dissipate again the glossy appearance...

I suppose this thechnique is the one you (Martin & David) are talking about ...
