There are multible issue concerning the eastern express zu 23-2:
- guns and barrels
- sights and calculator
- ammunition casing (including the Azimuth photoetch)
- gun cradle
- tyres...
I made one a few years ago, and without decent references the job wuold had been a nightmare

Follow the link to Storm Miniatures site where they are producing the ZU 23 2. Should be the new benchmark for this item.

I did that before I posted and was already aware of this kit being developed. That still doesn't explain what "See if this kit...." means. See if this kit comes out? See if this kit really has any Modelpoint stuff because it's so hard to get? See if this kit.....?

Sorry I did not finish my statement. I'd like to see what this kit will be like and yes, as Modelpoint is now defunct what will be included. I will make sure that I am 100% clear at all times. I feel bad for the non English speaker /writers on this site.

Hi Taras!
I´ve got a few images uploaded to a finnish modelling site (Pienoismallit.net). One should note, that there are some modifications compared to the original russian version of the gun (lights, mudquards etc.)

Where did you get the information that Modelpoint is defunct?

I have heard that also from a couple of their vendors. I don't know of any one getting anything from them right now.

Hi Juhasz,
you've done a stunning job on the muzzle flash supressors !
It's really amazing to see how such a tiny kit needs that much of extra job. I made one myself to go on a BTR-ZD but I must say that I was far from your (you and mato) level of details.
Keep on the good job.

In your opinion is the Azimut PE worth the price and did it contribute greatly to the look of your ZU 23 2?
Very nice details, do you paint your models?
Regards

Hi,
initially I was going to use Model Point barrels but after closer inspection they proved to be inaccurate. Besides, Model Point is a little hard to deal with kind of company. I finally got a batch of KPVT barrels from them for my next project ZPU-4 - it was quiet frustrating experience.
Anyway,
the barrels included in Zu-23-2 set are custom made by Master Models based on original drawings and plans provided by me. Wheels for the carriage where designed by Hussar using 3D technology
Currently I have 10 copies left from the first batch available in stock if anybody interested.
Second batch should be ready by late May.
here are some pics for those who is interested.

Cheers!

I am interested in a stock / item.
A few remarks to the cannon would be (I know this is pretty good, body close by):
I think the flash suppressor was too small (diameter), the gun cradle in front of the handle shape is not perfect (is bent sideways and upwards), missing the front pipe mounting clamps and Zapp-23 aircraft for optical sighting devices.
The wheel was very nice!!
ZPU-4 is also interested!
ZU-2 are you doing?
There are drawings, dimensions (the reticle is almost identical to the ZAPP-23 type)
Also can work with the 57mm S-60, Ks-19 100mm guns and 37mm cannon AZP-39 as well.
Dimensions, drawings are.
Regards, Gábor.
