Here are some images of my Trumpeter Strv 103B.
I,m using the Eduard etch and the Fine Molds barrel.
The barrel is really nice and fits like a glove.
The dark green spots is from me trying to open a can of paint.
The rear of the hull required some sanding for a perfect fit.
Some handles are from copper wire.
The dozer blade required quite a bit of filling.
I'm planning to make the blade in the dozing position.
If you're making it in the stowed position you don't have to pay so much attention to this since it's not visible.
The commanders MG with some etched parts.
The front needs quite some sanding and filling for a good fit.
The kit will be painted in an overall dark green colour as most B-versions was.
I will not use the flotation equipment since it was almost never mounted during training.
Comments are welcome.

Coming along nicely Thord. I saw it yesterday in the Stockholm IPMS side. Im surprised actually that not many here have taken on this tank. I for one think its one of the nicest modern around. Maybe when you get it completed it might spur some into taking up the challenge. I might even give it a go myself!!

Thanks for the comments.
I must say that I really like these offerings from Trumpeter even thou they are a bit underscaled.
Most details are nicely molded and the overall fitting is good.
This is my first real efford in using PE, I used some details on my Strv 122 but not this much.
The PE-sets are nice and I can really recommend buying them.
Ofcourse some of the parts are too fiddly and some looks better made by copper wire but overall it's quite nice.
The only drawback is that I found out I need a Hold & Fold :-)

Guden Tak Thord. Good to go so far on the Strv 103B. I have one of these kits as well. Nice to see one with the Eduard set in use. I plan to get this set for mine as well. I have the Finemolds barrel already. Are you a member of Plastic Warfare ? That is a nice Swedish site (although it needs to be updated soon). I've recently gotten the "swedish armor bug", and look forward to the Panda Models relsease of the Strv 122 in the future.
Cheers !

Hi Robert.
Yes, I'm part of the Plastic Warfare team.
I'm more of a researcher and not so much of a builder.
I got the right mode for this one thou but I had to take a break to fix with the house now.
Hopefully I can continue building next week.
I can really recommend the Eduard photo etch.

Tak Thord. Plastic Warfare is an excellent website. To any Armorama members who are even remotely interested in modern Swedish armor, go check it out at: www.plasticwarfare.com. I have had it on my favorites list since December of 2002. Excellent models, excellent photographs, and a great source of kit reveiws as well. The historical content also gets a 5-star rating. Keep up the great work The_Swede !!
Cheers !

Loveley vehicle Swede! Might even tempt me to take on some modern stuff. I'll second what you said about the hold n fold, but they're so damn expensive!

I have managed to build some more on my Strv.
The plans was to have it finished for the Hobby fair in Stockholm the past weekend but that didn't work out.
Anyway, I brought it with me and spent most of the weekend folding PE with my new HoldnFold tool :-)
I'm making it in the dozing position so I tilted the hull slightly forward by altering the road wheel positions.

Tjena Swede. Its starting to come together now! Looking good!
I saw this up close on sunday at the hobby fair and the PE defiantely adds a lot to the kit itself!
Looking forward to seeing it finished!
Good luck Thord

Thanks.
It was nice to meet you IRL but I must say I was a bit surprised when you came up to me and started talking about Armorama. It's definitely a small world we're living in. :-)
