Sven-Åke,
Subrub job on the painting! I like all of the differant colors that you have used for braking up the single mono tone yellow base coat. That vehicle looks really used and abused. I'm currently painting my Tiger II proto and I hope that I will be able to capture those colors on my build but without a lot of the wear and tear. I also like the weathering on the tracks and your base. Keep it coming . . . waiting to see those figures and the bicycle.

Sven-Åke,
Opps! I forgot to mention something? When I do go ahead and post my build it will definitely look like a 35th scale build . . . because it is a 35th scale build!
When I do post a 72nd scale Tiger II, I hope that it will at least look nice. Your build does in fact look like a 35th scale build. I meant to let you know that I like how you've handled the mating of all of the separate track link sections. You did a masterful job of blending them all together and painting them. Looks true to scale.

Thanks Eddy!!!
Those Revell tracklinks can really make or break a model. It takes careful cleaning
and a lot of test fitting before they can be assembled. I usually put them together with
Humbrols liquid glue and apply mild violence on them until they sit where I want them.
After the glue have dried I try to sand down any imperfections to make them look
as good as possible...

Thanks Jesper
Glad you like it!!!
My biggest problem now is that it feels likeI have reached my
limit of what is possible for me to do in his scale...
Each build has to be better than the last so I might have painted
myself into a corner with this Tiger...

Modelling techniques wise, it's nicely done.
For accuracy... not so much.
As Pawel said, the gun barrel needs to be either dark grey or black, not Oxid Red.
Further, fire-extinguishers were not bright red, they were sprayed allong with the whole vehicle.
That said, al the Rot Oxid showing is simply a fantasy.
And seeing as this is a Tiger-B with the initial turret, it should have a complete Zimmerit coating.

Well, sorry to disappoint you but my main interest is not really accuracy. I simply build
to have fun and create visually appealing scenes, I know that most of my builds have
many many faults and for that I have taken quite a lot of punishment but that won't
change my approach towards modelling. For many people, counting rivets and making
the ultimate replica of a real vehicle is very important and I totally respect and admire
the time and effort they put in to their work but that's just not me, sorry...
I'm however thankful for your comments and for pointing out all the faults
Best Regards
Sven-Åke (unaccuracy is my middle name)

Sven-Åke,
I had missed this posting until now.
You have an excellent little King Tiger viginette! Though not accurate historically as has been pointed out previously, the finish and the diorama are of a very high level and do not appear to be of such a small scale!
You mentioned Revell track links in an earlier posting, so is this a Revell kit? Any AM added?
Well done!

Yes it's a Revell 1/72 and I have added a few PE items like the meshes and the spare track
mounts on the turret. The rest of the modifications are scratchbuilt like the towing cable
holders and various other bits and pieces...

Well, I will have to admit that I'm not much for the whole red primer fashion of late, but setting that quibble aside, I will tell you that I thought I was looking at a 1/35 build.
Amazing.

I guess one has to be a little bit mad to be doing this but I'm atleast not a danger to
society if I stay indoors with my models
Glad you like it

Trully amazing workl! Your attention to detail is superv!! If you were to put a background and take the picture in black and white, it will look like a period photo of an actual King Tiger and troops!

I give up!!! If I had 23 hours a day to work on a project I couldn't do this or have a life. Despite the detractors it's truly amazing for the scale.

That is wonderful, amazing in 1/72
I'm quite pleased with some of my builds, but next to that........
May I also add that, to me, absolute historical accuracy comes way down after 'general realism'. Whether the Tiger as depicted existed or not, doesn't really matter to me. It certainly looks like it could have done

Spot On my friend!!!
"General Realism" is the word I have been looking for
That is the way of building things that suits me but I do have the utmost respect and
admiration for the guys who makes these superdetailed and superaccurate builds that
demand weeks of research and corrections. It's really amazing to see those vehicles
but I have taken another path which gives me more enjoyment and less stress and
in the end I build for myself first hand...
So glad you like it!!! Thanks for your comment!!!
