Well, now it is finished and I have tried my best to make is as good as possible...
It might be worth mentioning that it is a Revell 1/72 kit with some minor modifications
like PE and some scratchbuilt details... The bike and wheelbarrow comes from
OKB Grigorov and are also PE. The figures are from various Preiser kits and I have
swapped arms and legs and heads between them to get the poses that I wanted.
Everything is painted with Vallejo acrylics and weathered with oils and pigments...
Hope you all like it...
Cheers

Hi
When I first looked at the pictures I thought "Yes very nice example of a well weathered King Tiger etc " then I realised by the photograph the size ..........WOW.
Outstanding scaled detail in a kit of this size, easily, as I did, mistaken for 1/35 scale.
Well done.

Sven-
The finish on your king is amazing! I love the the streaking of rust from attachment points and the chipping along the edges. I saw a 35th scale King Tiger in a Verlinden book done in winter white wash with similar weathering. So now that one and yours are my benchmarks to hopefully attain when my modeling skills become better. Truly amazing!

Will "The Fallen King" have a base?
Thanks!!!
Yes, it will have a base and the story behind it is something like this...
The vehicle has seen a lot of action and somehow it has stalled due to engineproblems
or from lack of fuel but the crew has not yet abandoned it and are now using it as a
a bunker with a gun while waiting for repairs/fuel... So there will be quite a lot of rubble
and dirt surrounding the tank on the base but other than that I can not tell anything
since the base layout is still in my head
Best Regards

Another fantastic build. I am not a fan of excessive weathering but love the "lived in" look of the KT.
Looking forward to seeing more progress pics.

Thank You Mike!!!
Weathering should be applied with some thought and not just weathered for the sake
of weathering itself. I believe this one balances right on the edge of what is OK...
Cheers and Thanks!!!

Very impressive work. It's a pity you haven't chosen the Henshel turret as KT with initial turret without zimmerit is not something we can say is right. Just for the record The gun Barrel shouyld be dark grey / black if you would like to leave it in it's primer.
Nevertheless good work on the weathering.

Hi Sven!
Great wheatering , but I think that is not finished yet...I guess you come with pigments and wear on the wheels soon.

hi sven,
awesome job and weathering on your KT. you should be very proud of your build, i know it is very difficult to acheive these results at this scale. thanks for sharing it here at armorama. and in my books, if your happy with it and like it, that is all that matters.
respectfuly yours,
nick morgan

Superb work, excellent detail and great paint-work!
I agree with the others; it´s very hard, to build (or paint) details in small size!
I also build some small kits, with small scratchbuilt parts (machines).
I look forward to see the first steps for the base.
greetings...
Soeren

Hi there Dani
Yes you are right about the wheels and tracks... They will soon look much better once
I have given them the same treatment as I gave the rest of the tank...

hi sven, awesome job and weathering on your KT.
Thanks Nick!!!
Yes, I'm pretty pleased with it but there's a lot more to be done before it's ready
and only then I can decide if I like it or not but I feel I'm on the right track
Glad you like it so far, THANKS!!!

I look forward to see the first steps for the base.
Thank you very much Soeren!!!
I look forward to starting on the base and as soon as the tank is done I will
try to come up with a good layout of the base. There are many things to
concider like the angle of the vehicle, building or no building, rubble, dirt
figures, grass and trees... The list is long and it is much easier to see what
needs to be on the base once the tank is completely ready...
Cheers

What remains is some final weathering and three figures and a bicycle
and a few other bits and pieces...
Thanks!
