Ian-- nice find. Amazing how small it appears in the shot where the fellow is standing on the front slope.
Thanks

Thanks Ian,
The recovery of these WWII tanks is very interesting to me. I'm sure there are many more buried out there that will be recovered in years to come. Just imagine the person that finds something like this in one or two hundered years! These things are in relatively good shape after 65+ years of being submerged in a bog. Thanks for the link. I just wish I could read Czech.

You're not missing much, Jeff.
The Czech text just says that this KV-1 was found in 2005 in Lenigrad Volchov region and the first picture was taken on May 4, 2005. The removal from the site happened on October 14 thru 15 teh same year. The reconstruction was completed on January 17, 2007.

Great to see this machine recovered and restored to it's former glory. These AFV's are a little piece of history, so it's always great to see one rescued!

Judging by the turret, the wheels, and the rearward slope of the engine deck this is not a KV 1. It's a much rarer KV 85! Nice find I hope we see some more pics of this baby.

Thanks Galwitz,
It's very cool to have all of these bi-lingual people here! I can do German and a very little French.
Looks like it's time for Trumpy to get into the act and produce this variant.
