Hi Pat,

They look much better, not quite sure why the officer is wearing shoes, unless he still has putties to be added?

Al

Brown shoes He's wearing them on the Box art too.

The Desert campaign must be one of the last times Field officers actually dressed as officers. There must not have been much danger from snipers.

These look good

they look to be loosely based on charachters from the film of the same name though I haven't seen the movie.

These absolutely look fantastic. I think that something like this is what Hostage4 was looking for. Masterbox has a group of designers who are definitely thinking waaaaaaaaay outside the box. What great creativity and imagination. I've always had an interest in the North African theater of operations and will definitely be getting these and the 8th Army set. Now all I have to do is mortgage my house and buy all of these!!!

Kudos to MB for seemingly making the changes-give the people what they want. All of these set look pretty tempting.

Not a 100 % match to the movies actors ( probably a copyright thing ) , but a nice depiction of the differnt Allied uniforms in the desert . All I need now is the Academy Lee and a couple of Axis prisioners. Great set Masterbox !
This company keeps producing figure sets that I want to build. They have rekindled my interest with action sets , diorama in a box sets , and historical / personality sets : ie Bogie ( Sahara ) and the Rommel staff meeting ( on tank turret ) set . Now just get them into the hobby shops

Just rewatched the movie ( it's been a while ) . The figures are , not exact , but I would say , in the spirt of the film . When I first saw them on the MB site , Sahara jumped into my mind . If you know the film , this set will do that to you.
That being said , all round it's a great figure set , and it's got me excited about gettig it and a Lee tank. Now if MB could release a set of western figures with a Cavalry officer looking a little like a certain " Duke ', just pick any John Ford western. They give us all these great sets and we just want more ....

I think your quite right Pat,I mentioned Humphry Bogart in my post but did,nt realise the connection to the movie.By the way the original movie is much better than the remake

They remade the WW2 era Sahara ? Or are you thinking of the Clive Cussler book - based movie from a few yrs ago with Mathew McConahie ?All about toxic waste and a civil war Ironclad in the desert . Great book , lousy movie .

No he's right they remade Sahara as a TV movie with James Belushi in the Bogart role. I haven't seen it but some of the reviews on IMDB seem to think it's okay

Speaking of Lee and Grant tanks appropriate for these sets, who makes a decent one? I have heard nothing good about Academy kits.
