This is a first try and probably will not work so quick response would really be appreciated. Thanks! This is my second dukw, this one utilising a Verlinden and Eduard set.

Nice rivets - very well spaced - did you use a template?

The engine is nice. I personally would add a touch more dark black wash for a bit of grime.

Whats the twisted wire going to be for?

Thanks for the links Scott. How did you do it? LOL.
No template used.
I thought about adding a bit of 'grime' to the engine using Tamiya 'smoke' which would have the advantage of appearing to be wet oil or sludge, but the engine in the reference pics I was working from appeared quite free from it, and it was a working engine not a museum one.
The twisted wire just represents a thick conduit leading from the engine compartment throught the bulkhead, it will eventually be cut off when I install this.

Thanks for you comments Scott!

I just double checked the links and they work for me?

Nice steady hand on the rivets. If your reference has no grime - go with it!

The way to make 'clickable' links is to embed the URL between two tags
[ URL] paste url here [ /URL]

The white url button under the text box will place the tags in for you. The cut and paste your link between them.

Thanks Scott. I have posted the pics with Yahoo! According to their FAQs public access to the high res pics is not allowed, only the screen-sized ones so I'll give it another go!

Rats!!! I got error messages on all the links and red X's on the last attempt. Plan on doing a DUKW in the future, even bought the Verlinden motor and goodies kit. Always like to see others as this gives me an idea where to go with it.

Ok! Here we go! I've looked in the other Forum's and it appears that many other people are having trouble with pic posting from Yahoo as well.........so I've tried to do it through MSN. Funny thing is I couldn't get the MSN group Armorama to create a new album....anyone know why? Well.....here goes!

You don't have to tell me about replacing rivets on that beast.

Here's some photos of mine nearly done:

Teach

Great job so far on the DUKW. The rivets are a real good job. Did you make the rivets with a punch and die set or did you use something else? and the motor is that part of the kit or an AM thingy.
When this beast is finished it will be a beauty on the shelfes

Wow! That's a lot of rivets. I remember seeing PCModelers when he was in the process of replacing them. Good job on what looks to be a long difficult process. I can't wait to see it finished.

Finally I get to see them. Worth the wait. This looks very nice. I like the handles on the tools, and muddy tires in the back. I don't know from making rivets but from what others have said I guess you should be very proud of your work in that area. Very good job.
