Thank you for getting this up James. Having looked at the review I will scan the back of the box and send it in to be added to this review. I feel that having knocked the instructions as I have they need to be seen and I have neglected to supply a picture.

I thought the Woodland camo sheet was quite bright and pale.
Anyone think likewise?

Desmond I did a Mk1 eyeball check against camo decals on sale and the woodland seemed fine, with the desert looking a little light almost white. but I felt that until applied to the figure it would be hard to judge accuracy.

The poses on these figures are very relaxed and natural I thought. However, they are a bit large for 1/35th scale. The figure talking into the shoulder mike stands about 6'3" - that's a big boy! I am mixing him in with the other Trumpeter sets, and he will average out the height of the team. There is always a big guy in every crowd - eve the military.
I like this set myself because of the mix of armor and infantry types. I am a cheap skate when it comes to resin figures, so I go with the flow when the plastic figures come out.
Thanks for the review,
Mark L.

Hisham at the price they are currently going for, even if the figures are not used. I feel it is a worthwhile investment for the equipment alone. As I said in the review I do believe the AFV crew to be usable with a little work on improvements that will make them better. The infantry figures I believe will give you 1 good and 1 average figure, with everything that is in the box I really do believe that this will be a good seller for Trumpeter. After all what will two sheets of decal camo cost on their own.
Mark they did not seem tall so much as (the only word I can think of is beefy).

I have this kit and others from Trumpeter.
All in all I agree with Darren that for your money they are hard to beat.
I also agree that they really have to elaborate more on the instructions, there are too many pieces unexplained.
A couple of nights ago I started on the new mortar team.Nice looking figures, but the hands at the wrists definately need some adjusting. Also as Darren mentioned,I do believe we have to give Trumpeter a lot of credit for even coming out with a good assortment of modern figures and they do have a track record for improving their products.
Back to the mortar team.
I wanted to try the uniform camo decal,so on the first figure I gave a coat of Future, then decal setting solution.I started to apply a piece of the decal and it was terrible.I decided to stick to painting. My question here is has anyone applied these?,And what were your results?

Tom when you say it was terrible please explain further. Was it because when the decal dried and settled after the setting solution it was poor, or was the actual decal poor.

Darren,I would say the decal was poor because it simply didn't adhere well and most of it flaked off.
This was my first attempt at using decals on a figure's uniform and I'm not sure if a decal will set into so many creases with a good setting.
It's only theory ,but I do think it is the quality of the decal itself.
I will keep trying and let you know if I get any better results.

I look forward to seeing how you get on. As soon as I get some setting solution I will be having a crack at it as well.

I bought the set to add with my Trump M1117 - the figures are well done. I could not get the camo decals to cooperate. A couple of times they tore while being applied and the colors looked funky. So I gave up on them.

Frank thank you for your input on the figures and the decals. Out of interest what setting solution did you use.

Mr Softner
The decals ripped as I was trying to get them off the paper and not on the figure. On the one figure I used the decal on i used the setting solution and then worked the decal into the nook and crannies with a q-tip. It set pretty well but like I said the color seemed funky to me.

CMOT,The 'packs' on fig Bs boots are his kneepads. they are often allowed to slip or are placed there to give the legs a rest from the straps of the pads cutting into the wearers legs.

I found this kit to be useful when allied with some of the Verlinden resin SOF or DML figure parts. The guns, gear, arms, and most of the legs are quite decent.
Also, this set has the added feature of clear visor goggles which make for some neat-looking heads when glued over the eyes.
