Looks good Vinnie! Any weathering planned? Looks a bit too clean, especially the truck's bed. Some scratches would look good, IMO.

Lol hey Ijr70.....I'm a teacher, and it's the summer holidays! Naw, usually I have quite a few on the go at any one time, and since I have nothing else to do today and the weather is fine I've set up in the garden and started taking pics!
On the weathering side of things...I dunno, some times I like them cleanish, and some times depending on the model I like to scratch away. You really think this one would look better with a load of mud covering it?

Vinnie - nice, clean work. I don't see any glaring construction flaws or misalignments to carp about. Tamiya's model is basically elegant. For my eye, that translates into a "cleaner" look like you finished.

Personally, I would paint the winch cable a different color - steel instead of rope. The only other thing worth mentioning, but I can't tell for sure, is the appearance of decal silvering - this could be an artifact of the photo image process...

Like Ken said, it would certainly benefit by adding more indicators of "use" like scratches and the like - but doesn't require them to make your effort any better.

You did us truck lovers proud! Build more trucks! Heh heh...

Vinnie

Good looking deuce.

Did you scratch that front end storage rack around the winch, or is it stock with the kit?

These Tamiya deuce kits are sweet.

Another VERY nice kit. I get a kick out of this kit since my Dad drove one in the war. I saw the .50 kit for this one at the hobby store last week and wondered how it looked. Now I know. I've GOT to have it.

Steve? The winch assembly comes extra with the Tamiya cargo truck accessory parts set #35231

Included in the set are the winch (obviously! lol) the M26 truck mount, a new rolled up canvas tilt, a couple of jerry can holders.

nice job Vinnie. As far as weathering is concerned I would just use some pencil lead and scratch/rub into the rear deck where cargo was shifted around. This area always substained wear even for a truck that was kept cleaner then normal. The rest I would leave as is, as it looks good.

Also the winch comes with the main kit not the accessory kit. It is the cargo hooks that are with the accessory kit :-)

teacher,
why not just dust it up instead of mudding it up so that its in france summer 44 as
part of the redball express as they were trashing wagons all the time due to lack
of sleep new wagons would replace the knackered ones

Absolutely gorgeous kit. I agree with Kencelot . That was my first thought, the truck was too clean. Any duece I've ever seen was pretty dirty or at least dusty. Just do a light job though, you wouldn't want to hide any of your fine workmanship

It is a great kit - with one small complaint. The bows do not have much of a glue surface and therefore are prone to come "detached" very easily. One thing you might consider, especially if you plan on any kind of weathering: cut some small pieces of masking tape to resemble the areas of a windshield cleaned by the wipers. Put them on the windshield and weather away, including the remaining windshield area. Then remove the tape and you'll have a very pleasing look that works well even with light weathering / dusting techniques.
