Great Dio Gino
I like it.
The heads are horrible but the rest of the figures are great especially the weapons.
Congrats

Great dio I like the theme very much - something different than most of Iraqi dioramas.

Thanks Kuba. I like the out-of-the-ordinary subject matter as well.

Gino,
GREAT dio! Brings back a LOT of memories (33 months "boots on ground" time in Iraq). This is just an observation, and not a critique in any form...a lot of the vehicles had a spare tire mounted on the roof as well.
Again, GREAT dio!

Gino,
A really nicely executed dio of a rarely modelled subject!
But I don't see the seatbelts we ALWAYS have to wear!
Well Done!

Thanks Ron C and Jeff. I was actually looking for a good spare tire to put up top, but couldn't find anything that matched the ones on the truck. The diecast ones didn't come with separate spares.

Looks good but the figures are way to clean to be in that dio. Your basicly in the middle of the desert so they should be a little dirty/dusty. Plus if you had just been blown into a barrier by an IED you would probbly have some minor-severe injuries( cuts, broken bones, ect )
but other than that looks really good

Thanks for the reply, but...having been in Iraq and worked directly with Diplomatic Security guys, they don't get that dirty. They are in the cities and have good wash/cleaning facilities. Likewise, I have seen some torn up uparmored vehicles that everyone walked away from without a scratch.

Looks nice Gino. You captured the scene well. I really like the composition. The car damage and road barriers look the part, as does the skid marks. The figures are the weak point IMO. The poses are OK but the detail in their clothing looks quite soft. This is particularily apparent in the crotch area of their trousers where some zipper detail would have made them look more natural. I suppose they work OK in a diorama when combined with everything else, but I wouldn´t have them in a scene themselves.

Nice stuff Gino- it looks the part now the skid marks are in. I think it gives the scene a good sense of movement and helps convey the story.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
Frank: I agree that the figs aren't the greatest. They seem to work in the dio though.
Oghee: The barriers were made by me from dimensions I found on the web and ones I measured in Iraq. Check out these websites for some more info:
Jersey barriers
Jersey, Texas, and Alaska barriers (scroll to page 6)
Good luck.
