During the last 6 months I've recieved well over a 100 e-mails
all more or less threatning and in other ways attacking me as
a person and also my models...

When I then read the post from Julien where he thought it was
a copy and that I should change the name of the diorama and
I later got the e-mail from Gunnar I just felt that my limit
was reached.

I tried as politely as I could to apologize for the mistake and
at the same time pull out of this bad downward bound spiral in
which I have found myself in lately.

Now I can't pretend anymore that I enjoy the modelling that once
was so precious to me and I'm sure that even more people will call
me a "drama queen" and even worse but I have to stop this now
before it goes too far.

I have had this hobby as a recreation to clear my head from the
everyday sorrows and problems that surrounds me and it has kept
me happy for many years and I believe my precense here has kept
many of you guys happy too.

I am very touched by all your support and thank each and everyone
of you from the bottom of my heart. I know for a fact that a few
of you will have a hard time accepting this and will probably not
speak to me ever again but I will still consider all of you my
very best friends and thank you all for the many many hours of
fun I've had on the computer and at my workbench.

So once again I say to all of you out there, THANKS for being
such wonderful people and thanks for all the inpsiration!!!

Best Regards

This is a sad story, people should really regard their hobbies just like hobbies.
It's not a job, not a matter of life and death, not something that raises us to heaven or lowers us to Hades. It's pure fun and creation.

If Sven needs some distance from modeling I am with him, but only if he promises to return fresh and even more creative.

Congratulations for what you have built, and for what you'll build buddy.

Jealousy rears its ugly head again.
Im quite saddened to hear that you´ve received so many crap mails, Sven-Åke.
Unfortunatly its pretty well known, that those whos work gets recognised by their peers and and that their work is appreciated by most ... also attract attention of the losers who cant seperate a hobby and life, and are only jealous its you and not them. Ive seen so many sly swipes made at modellers, for no other reason i can think of.
Having been watching your work for the last few years ... and how its developed, and also having met you several times, I know you are a genuine and stand up guy, and your only problem is that you are too modest and civil.
F%&k them Sven-Åke ... you have enough friends and fellow modellers who either know you personally and/or appreciate your work, to give these losers a second thought.
Hopefully you are still coming to Stockholm next weekend? I´d love to have a chat with you again.

Jeez!!!! Threatening e-mails! I can't even begin to imagine what could be going on in such people's minds.

After reading various posts here and on other modelling sites for the past couple of years, all I can say is that there are A LOT of people in this hobby who need to grow up, become adults AND get a life... and it's those people who always ruin the fun for everyone else in this hobby.

Sven, I sincerely hope you reconsider your position and just send those people a message to just "Go To Hell"

Don't lose the enjoyment of the hobby, my friend

I will be looking forward to see you. Is Pelle(?) coming along?

However, if I where you I would show the mails in public and so all can see who these guys are and how they behave.

I saw the "Dramaqueen" comment on ML. But Im sure you know what that guy is like. Funny thing that he could be one himself when it suits him.

I have another friend in the hobby who had a similar problem. But he also does a lot of paintjobs for HA and alikes which was a surprice for his bullies.

Cheers

Sven-Åke, I hate reading this. I have been so captivated by your work; I have all of your build logs and How-to articles bookmarked. You have a terrific style with your builds and your photos, and I get excited every time I see you start a new diorama. It's guys like you who keep me excited about this hobby and encourage me to improve my own builds. It's also obvious that you are a really good person, so I hope you can continue to share your work with us. I for one appreciate it!

Take care,
Michael

You know, a downhill dio campaign might be kind of fun. I was thinking of when my old CO dropped our jeep down a small hill at pelham range. Various vehicles ,having missed a curve or something, can be made into something fun.

Bet it would be a bear getting a Staghound back onto the road;it was bear moving that M151 , a much smaller vehicle.

My two cents,if someone wanted to copy something i`d done i to would be flattered as long as i got credited with the original idea.In fact it`d be nice to see what minor differences could be incorperated into it.
for lords sake this is our hobby, not a damned inventors confereance - live and let live !!!

Nope, I saw it the first time when the link to his work was posted in the thread
I had posted my pictures of my diorama...

Then what can possibly be the problem? You can only copy what you know about. If you haven't seen his version, you've not copied him, you've come up with the same idea as him. He can't insist that you withdraw. And you can prove what you have and haven't seen by looking through the browsing history in your computer.

This gunnar guy sounds really arrogant and self infatuated, telling you to remove your pictures!?! Thats a shocking request and insult, who does he think he is? Sven dont remove your pictures, and most importantly dont let a imbecile like him tell you what you can or cant do.

Wow Sven, I'm truly sorry to see you in this kind of funk. You are one of the greatest modelers I have seen in many years. You models are truly gems! If we all bought the same kit, and made the same subject, would'nt we all be copying each other? What's the difference? I'm truly outraged that this person, or anybody else would slam you and you modeling abilities. Well my Friend, I sincerely hope that if you take leave, you won't be gone for long.

I have no idea what is wrong with all of you?

What are you blaming me for??? If Svejn would have the guts he´d post here that I never forced him to delete the pictures from this or any other forum.

Nor did I ever say anything about a copy in public.

And Sven- Ake isn´t gone at all. He is still around posting over on ML and here:

http://www.hobbybokhandeln.net/?p=4908

Didn´t he say he would quit? Doesn´t look like he was gone too long.

I consider Sven-Ake as a great modeller and would like to talk to him. But he just doesn´t answer my email.
Be assured that I am not the person who did turn him off the hobby in any way!
Nor did I wrote him a hundred emails with whatever the content was!
He only received one email from me in which I didn´t force him to do anything but to get in contact with me!!

I was very confused, sad but also mad because I can not understand what I alleged to have said.
(I hope that´s the right words for what I mean)

Did any of you guys asked me of what I have done or said??????
There are even people around here and elsewhere that would rather see me dead!

I don´t get it.

Where were you all when I wrote the email attacking Sven-Ake to delete his pics right away?

And again:
I love to be copied! Even if Sven-Ake didn´t. In this case I would love to do a two man group build to see how we can get these dio´s done

I also like to copy every guy around in any of the forums. Their techniques and gebius!
Every one does that. And this is not the subject of this matter at all.

And to all of you who do not know me and would love to send me more of these great wishes, here is my email adress:

[email protected]

And also here is something I have posted on here a few years back. For all those who were in doubt of who I am?

https://armorama.kitmaker.net//features/458

Have a great weekend anyway. I won´t
Gunnar

Hi Gunnar, I haven't commented on this at all either here or on ML but it seems like a misunderstanding on Sven's part.

Perhaps he recieved threatening emails from someone else-there are a lot of jealous modelers out there. Dennis Trowbridge had the same problem with threatening emails a while ago. Always the answering to threatening emails is to block the sender or report them.

Why on earth dont the mods just lock and delete this thread. From where im sat its offering nothing useful to the site and seems to just be making the situation worse. Whatever the issue is here, these things seriously needed to be handled through private emails.

I agree. Pretty childish. They've locked most of them up else where, except one that I think sums most of this up.

As Gunnar says, and as I clearly said in my post It is NOT he who has written the other
e-mails. This matter between Gunnar and me will be sorted off-line so PLEASE turn the
volume down and enjoy your modelling and build us some nice stuff OK!!!

Sven-Åke

I will always hold your builds up as the finest inspiration to my own efforts.

Unfortunately the internet breeds faceless "children" who would rather destroy peoples reputations by a series of nasty emails of postings on internationally read forums.

Please reconsider dropping out of the hobby altogether as it would be a great shame and a victory for those idiots who are so jealous of your work. However you must do what YOU believe is right for YOU.

All the best and hope to hear from you soon

Sounds like a misunderstanding between 2 modelers. It happens. Bad e-mails can be ignored. Seems to me that a lot of people have nothing better to do than stir the pot. People who carry on in someones else's argument, unimportant. Two people who communicate because of a missunderstanding and work out the problem, priceless.
