Hagenbeck comes highly recommended, just look out for the elephants - those beasts are SILENT!
And if you find time and are interested in old sailing ships visit the "Rickmer Rickmers", a historical sailing barge.

Thanks a lot!
Any well-stocked hobby shops? Maybe it's cheaper than in Hungary....
After coming back, I will remove the foil, and have a closer look at this Pzh 2000
Best regards,
Adam

Hamburg was great! The "city of the one thousand Mini Coopers"
I was at Rettkowsky's, but finally I bought a Trumpeter M1127 RV via a german webshop for 15 EURs. A real bargain!
Has anyone seen building logs or reviews on the Pzh 2000? English, spanish? Or others if I can use google translator.
Thanks!
Adam

Here's a blog I did a few years ago:
http://www.militarymodelling.com/forums/postings.asp?th=18032&p=1
If some of the pictures are not showing just try again later. Imageshack seem to do some regular maintenance on their servers and some pictures will be down for about a few hours up to a day but they should be back.
As you will see I did try my best to update it. It may not be up to AMS standards but it was a fun project and I'm very happy with the results.
Since then Bronco released the PzH2000 plastic tracks so I will be replacing the crappy vinyl ones.

Hi guys,
just a word about Revell boxes. My LHS Dealer told me one that Revell ordered the boxes before they had the sprues ready. Obvoiusly Revell thinks that bogger boxes sell better. They have equally large box for their M1A2 (ex Trumpeter). By dealer was not pleased since such large boxes take away lots of shelf room.
Just my 2 cents

Guys,
One part is missing. I have contacted Revell Europe's customer center, but nothing has happened since then.
Does anyone have any experience about it?
Cheers,
Adam

Got it!
Is it normal on every Dutch one or is it for Afghanistan only?
Best regards,
Adam
To my knowledge, which might be completely wrong, the Dutch PzH2000's in Afghanistan were sent in painted in the regular NATO three tone... at least judging by the images of them loaded on an transport airplane, allegedly for their deployment in Afghanistan.
All the images from the Dutch vehicles in Afghanistan I have come across seem to suggest the same: NATO three tone, covered by a thick layer of dust and mud, the color of which is not that far off from desert tan (under the right lighting conditions). It is not that clear to me whether some of it was 'painted' on deliberately or not.
The only images I have come across from PzH2000s not in standard NATO three tone camo are the Greek ones - which IIRC were sold to them by the Dutch.

Agree with you Harm, but I think Adam was talking about the add-on hull and turret armor panels

If Adam meant those, then I think they are all dark-grey/black, under a nice coat of dust. I haven't seen them in any other color on a Dutch PzH 2000 on any images I have.

I have just started it... the plastic is VERY soft and crappy, deatails seem to be quit nice, but not sharp enough. It will be harder than I've anticipated.
And Revell Europe hasn't sent me a response yet, concerning the missing parts.
Cheers,
Adam

And one more: I have just heard that tracks might be replaced with Leo 1 tracks. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Adam

Not sure about the Leo I tracks, but Bronco makes a replacement set of tracks specifically for the PzH2000.

No, get the Bronco tracks for PzH2000. Leopard 1 tracks are similar, but for example have completely different guide horns.

Thank you Guys, the problem is that I can't really afford the Bronco ones, so I was searching for an alternative. But it's a dead end:)

Just started it... This kit is a PAIN.
A bunch of low details, fit issues, missing details, and some really big problems.
It is a pity, since one could except better quality from a German manufacturer on a German vehicle in 1999.
It is so bad that I don't even have the mood to scratchbild some parts because others will worsen the whole picture.
And one set of poly caps is also missing from the box.
But I have no other option, and I like that kit, because it is HUGE. I think I will add a camouflage net, in order to get rid of some issues.

Ps.: please-please check this link out, I must sell a few copies in order to maintain the site: http://mhrfweb.makett.org/oldal/index.php?lang=en THANKS A LOT!
