It's coming along very nicely. I almost seems to be a shame to have to cover all the details in paint after all the work installing them. Should be another winner. Well done

In one word ......STUNNING. Great work again Twig.
Is there no way we can bully you into painting these when finished? Im sure there would be plenty of the experts willing to do this for free ..... just to get a chance to work with all those details! Top of the class ........
Also .... excellent site with easy to access great pictures. Its a pleasure to start at the bottom and follow your progress .... get that camera back again.
Good luck with the rest!!

Twig it looks great!!! I'm wit Animal when he says that's a pity to cover all that detail with paint... I had the same doubt wit a super detailed M47, but I think that it's appealing after being painted too.

A few things I really like: the bolts holding downthe spare tracks, the tie downs for the cable, the drape to the cable on the side, the weld seams, the wire to the headlight WITH a connector, the subtle dents to the fender.
Excellent work.
What I don't like...
And that's about it.

I dont know what sort of figures to get yet and am open to suggestions - the time period of this vehicle is about 1965-70 so two tankers in overalls (with appropriate hornet heads) is what I am after (they dont have to be soviet specific) - if anyone knows of some good figures in overalls that I could use I would be very much interested in hearing about them.
Great job, Twig! That brass fenders looks really great -- I never tried to use the metal ones at my models. I just doesn't shure whether they can seat in place strong -- how do you normally solve the problem of popping out metal parts?
As for the figures -- can recommend the ICM's kit "Modern Soviet Tank Krew" (I don't remember the number). There are 4 figures -- 3 in two-piece tanker's dresses so you'll can use them for any period of time from the late 60-s till now. One figure is in moderm style field uniform which is in use from the mid-80-s till now (in different camo patterns but the main desigh is the same). Also in the kit are some different kind of headgear: tank helmets, "pilotka" caps and modern-style field caps. So you'll have not only the good figures for your excellent model but also some bunch of spares for your later works
Cheers and happy modelling!

I am really digging this one, Lee, it just keeps getting better and better with each update. I am hoping you're painting skills are up to the challenge. I am still looking forward to seeing the rest of the welding article. Lee does some of the best modelling articles I have ever read, to go along with his best models I ever saw.

Can't fault it Lee. Wouldn't want to either, looks fantastic, superb detail work, love the welds, did you use a pyrogravure?

Lee, another brief question for you,
Where did you get these bolts and nuts?
Thanks,
Dave
