Marcus,
That looks awesome. My Russian is very rusty, but shouldn't the slogan on the turret have an "a" at the end (i.e. za Stalina)? One of our Russian speakers will know for sure.

Great-looking paint-job. Is it based on an actual reference, or is it "artistic licence" at work? Either way it looks effective, and I also like the way you've weathered the wheels and tracks.
The only thing that spoils it little a for me bit is the very uneven track joins at the top of each track run. Almost like little "steps". They do jump out at you a bit.
But other than that - cracking job!

Nice change from 4BO green!
Some details to note though: Those two metal boxes you have on the sides are, IIRC, post war. I think they held small pumps for moving fuel from the external cells to the internal tanks or some such (not 100% positive about that however).
Other than STZ full sets of the tireless cast steel wheels were very, very rare (I have photos of six or so total out of a collection of thousands) and by the time the commanders cupola was introduced in mid 1943 their use had been largely discontinued. You can still see them being used as replacements from time to time but I can't imagine a full set on any T-34 that late in the war.
Otherwise nice work!

Guys,
thank you very, very much for your posts.
This kit was built for fun,for taking away stress from other buildings (and from work too),so I built it OOB like there was no tomorrow...
Bill and Jamal, the decal was from a SS sheet as was,so,I will take care of that next time, tks!
Steve,me too - as those tracks are glued and the joint is centered,I would have to re-start the tracks (and then I would surely change them for a LBL!!!!).
Mark, good amount of important data about the T-34 - I have saved them for future reference.
Again, thank you all very much for your posts and hints!

Marcus,
Bom dia! Todo bem? The T-34 looks good. The tracks have been mentioned, but the other glaring thing are the towing lugs on the front of the hull. There are exactly 2 T-34's that have these. The vehicle are (were?) parked at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds Museum in Aberdeen, Maryland, USA. These engineless vehicle had the lugs welded onto the very front of the hull to allow U.S. towing equipment to be used to move the vehicles around the museum. You may want to cut them off, sand the down and add some mud to cover the scar. Other than that, good job.
Regards,
Georg
PS- where in S.P. are you from, my in-laws live in Jardim Paulista?

Dear Georg,
Tudo bem?
Thanks for your posting.
Indeed,I have already also been warned by a fellow modeller in a Brazilian Forum about these damned lugs from Aberdeen.....the result? All my 4 T-34 from Tamiya back on the bench, for all have those lugs, and THAT is more than I can bear......
That´s exactly what I already did, and,as I had to do this, the tracks were unglued and are now underneath the wheels, waiting for some mud to cover the joints...as soon as I finish, more pics.
I live in São Paulo state (capital-name also São Paulo),in the Aeronautical and Aerospace Brazilian center,São José dos Campos city,80 km from São Paulo and 320km from Rio de Janeiro city (I was hailed from Rio).
Nice to hear from you,I go frequently to São Paulo, near your relatives.
All the best,
Marcus

Great build and paint!
This seems to be one of the rare vehicles, as I saw only the standard green "camo" of these tanks until now.
greetings...

Very nice! The T34 has always been a favorite of mine. I got one on the shelf waiting to be built and I love to see what others have done with theirs.

Marcus,
Very nice build Im working on the same kit now but going with the more common Dark green. The gas stains on the rear external tanks looks great. how did you do that? Also what did you use for the mud on the treads?

Salvatore,
Tks.Hope to see yours soon here.
I just touched with a fine brush some "Betume da Judéia" - sorry,I don´t know the name in English, but it is a kind of scrap petrol sub-product,very common to ageing paintings, wood, etc.
Any brown oil paint would also do.
The mud was simply brown sanded pastel chalk, water and real backyard earth (properly grained),all mixed and applied with a brush...quite wet but when it dries...we have the effect seen in the pics.

Thanks Marcus,
Don't know what Betume da Judéia is but i see if i have some oil paint and thin some of it out. Did you have any trouble with the rear seam where the top meets the bottom? I don't like the way mine is meeting up ill have to try and work on that more in the morning. I'll put some pic's up when its finished. But again nice work.

Hi Marcus,
Finished my T-34 except for the antenna forgot to make one, but I will. Used a mix of black and brown acrylic watered down and an eye dropper to make the gasoline stains. This could be my best build to date. But looking at your photos and some others I think I put my infantry grab handles to high up on the turret and I could have made my mud a little thicker. I plan on adding some infantry riding on it as well some tine in the future. I will post some photo on this tread when the system is back up and working.

I finally discovered the name in English,it is "Coaltar Oil Varnish".
No,I didn´t have any troubles, but always do a lot of fry fitting and adjusts before gluing the thing!
