I have tried a few times guess im making small mistake

Yes the engine is from Firing Line .very good ,I added some extra pipes here and there. I was going to have the engine hanging from the jib but it was to heavy so I put it on the hamper

yes i got to a point where enough was enough with added detail
although there is plenty of scope to add even more detail I think there is a point where you have to have to break away and leave it at that
For a kit combination thats cost so much money I deemed it a pont to leave as is

I do have a verlinden tank commander to go with it but realized after painting it that the figure is ww2 and the vehicle is post war so they were not compatible
ill keep him for another day and vehicle

Great build Phontic!

I have the same project in my "long queue"
The tracks look pretty good. Are this the tracks from the Tamiya kit?
Your idea to put the engine pack on the rear is pretty cool. It let me to the website of Firing Line and their ordering form as well. Should be on the way soon

Happy modelling
Harald

Nice job but remember the 38 webbing and pistol on your tea drinking crewman went out of use in the early 60's. Remove the pistol and ammo pouch so he can be used later than WW2.
I wore a pixie suit right up til 1972.

Chieftain has many fond memories for myself, both in it and behind the recovery version.

Excellent work mate, I was looking what I could do with the old Tamiya Chieftain I have in my unbuilt collection, I may have found it.

"hes going to a WW2 fancy dress party"

thanks for the tip rather than modify the figure what i may do is to get another figure and leave off the gun and holster as you sugest
now i ve looked at the pics there is also a lot of rework to do so I may address all these issues in a refit
