Hello friends.
Here is the beginning of a new build-log.
I've built the Tamiya T-55, with some Eduard PE pieces and some scratch. As I'm new in Russian modern armor, I haven't detailled it so much.
First, let me show you the built tank :
Next update, priming and first steps of paint work.
Thanks for reading,
Regards,
Alexandre.

Yo Alexandre,
Well, that's a subject we don't see much from you...nice build, looks very clean...I'll hope you will place it on a diorama
But first things first...looking forward to the paintjob.

Alexandre, I wish you nothing but fun with this new project !
The build looks good already, I like the textures on the turret. This can become a nice looking piece of armor, regarding your painting skills !
Thanks again for your pm my friend !

Looks very nice, I'm looking forward to seeing your finished tank, in its diorama. Unfortunately, Ethiopian tanks aren't very colorful; those I've seen don't appear to carry any national markings.

Interesting project!
I wait for the paint-scheme!
I have seen some interesting multi-colored variations of african nations.
greetings...

Nice start, I heard that song "Radio Africa" on the radio recently and some of the lines are:
"More tanks than food in the Ogaden
It looks like Moscow got it wrong again."
Looking forward to seeing more.

Hi friends,
And thanks!
Sean, thanks, I've planned a little dio. Nothing giant, actually the challenge is to manage to finish something...
Yo Nico friend! Great to see you here, well, sure that's not my usual subject, but I feel it very pleasant I must admit.
Hello Guy, well, thanks for the reply, we keep in touch and will talk soon.
Hi Jphillips, thanks for your interest, well, Ethiopian AFV aren't colorfull for sure, but, Iv'e seen some nice markings sometimes. BTW, I don't like painting complicated camo on my models, that's why I often paint mono-tone scheme.
Hello Soeren, well thanks but I hope I won't disapoint you.
Hi Jenseits, for sure I hope too. Thanks for your kind words.
Hi Pat, cool you find your way here. I did not know this song until this morning when I read your lines. Thanks again.
Well, time for some updates :
First priming with Gunze can :
Then, a bit of color.
After drying, I've painted ethiopian colors on the barrel.
Thanks for taking time to read,
Alexandre.

Hi Thanks JB! Well, I've made some progress with my camera skills.
See you soon, sun is back in town, means that we will meet again in the garden shed!
Did you know that in greek, Aethiops is Hephaistos son, that means "with the burnt face". Ethiopia have a so long history, that's why it's a great subject to model.
Well, a little update today, painting scheme on the whole tank :
Waiting for your thoughts friends,
have a great day.
Alexandre.

Nothing to add Alex; wonderful start! You're certainly choosing some interesting themes. I'm following this one as I'm very interested what will you come up with.

Hi Primoz friend!
Nice to see you onboard!
Well, thanks for your kind words, unfortunately I don't have so much time to realize all the projects I've got in mind.

As far as tanks go, yours look pretty good and original.
As for the time for doing idea that crosses your mind, life is all about the choices we make, for the moment you look like you lead a good life

Wow Alex !
I love the look of the hull, the oils process you've used looks first class !
Can you also post some close up shots of the work on it please ?
The contrasts and different shades are VERY well done !

Hi thanks friends for feedback. I'm glad you like it so far.
Paul, thanks, unfortunately I'm some steps ahead and didn't take time to take close up. In the next update, there will be some better details pics.

Yes, the "rasta-band" on the barrel is a nice touch!
Also the smooth weathering looks very good!
Different shades are always not easy to reproduce, but the oil-colors seems to make good results, when used softly.
Some weeks ago I tried to use pigments for "darkening" small parts of a landscape and the bigger parts of the pigments I used as small stones.
greetings...

Hello folks,
Hello Sean, thanks for your comment, much appreciated, glad to see I've inspired you, but don't forget that the main thing is to add "your touch" when it comes to painting. Thanks again.
Well, today's update : mud and dust.
Ogaden is a semi-arid tableland, with a hard weather. I've gone for a dry-mud effect.
Done with acrylic resin, mixed with very fine sand and dust, 2 shades of pigments and some plant debris.
various dry and wet effect are realized using acrylic paint, in various shades.
Feel free to comment gentlemen.
Have a great day, Alexandre.

Hey Alex,
since I´m around in this forum, I enjoy to follow your work blogs , because I am amazed everytime by your work and the way you work.
The chosen topics and your approach to realize impressions and the "feeling" about it have always been very inspiring.
Again, this one is something which is rarely seen.
can´t wait to see more of it.
Mike
