Tamiya Schwimmwagen & Aber AF
Having finished the engine and just adding a few wires to 'busy' it up I turned my attention to the interior.
Some of the Aber instructions are a little unclear but after finding quite a few images of real Shcwimmwagens on the net it wasn't too difficult to work out where they all went. I attached all the internal parts as per instructions apart from the new Aber instrument panel which seemed to offer no improvement over the original, so I cut off the attached 'map case?' and used it. I then gave the whole of the interior an overall coat of Tamiya desert yellow XF-59 (No basecoat) and picked out the details in X-18 and XF-1. The duckboards were given a coat of XF-52 flat earth, and the scratches, and duckboard hinges were picked out in Humbrol 27003 and then polished. The washes next......

Vinnie, it's a bit too early in the build to critique her, she's looking great! I would like to know what method you used to make the chipped areas shiny.
I just got the Eduard PE sets for my Ford GPA - the U.S. schwimmer - today and seeing your model has really inspired me to get mine underway.

Hi kencelot,
The chipped areas were painted in with Humbrol Metalcote using a 30 brush and then polished using a cotton bud.
