Two kits built OOB are Tamiyas Sd.Kfz.222 and Sd.Kfz.223. Nice little kits and fast to build. Will eventually become part of a bigger dio ....... someday!!!
All comment, harsh or harsher are welcome!!

Very nice work so far I'm doing the same kit (the 222) noticed that the jerry can handles were done very badly by Tamiya. I was going to see if there is any way of making them a little more accurate without violating the OOB rules, like maybe cutting the 3 bars into where the handle is.....

Plastic
No harsh commments deserved here. These are looking good as very solid builds. Based on the excellent work you did on your scud awhile back, I am looking forward to seeing these painted. Congrats so far on your Barb Campaign progress.
ps: There appears to be a rough little edge of flash on the underside of the front fender that a single swipe of a sanding stick should remove---that's as harsh as I'm gonna get! (lol)

Plastic,
Nice clean build as usual. Good thing to see all the Barb. models are pouring in. This is good for the campaign.
Can't wait to see them finished.
The 222 is always something I like to do.

Nice builds! I hadn't realised that campaign models had to be built OOB. I've always loved these models, I'll have to have a close look at getting involved in a campaign soon. Nice one again!

Thank you all for your nice comments guys.
I actaully wasnt aware of this ..... I was going to replace the jerry cans with Italeri ones as the kit supplied version had only two bar handles instead of 3.
I thought it was up to the individual to decide whether they wanted to build OOB or not????
Could somebody clarify this?
Wewillhold ........ thanks for the comment about the fenders ... I see its the same on both kits. I want add some dirt ... hopefully like that on Grifters opel blitz around these areas ... but a little sanding wont hurt anyway!!
All the best

My understanding that you could build any way you wanted ... OOTB, tons of AM, or anywhere in between

FYI, this is copied from the Barb Campaign page, and describes the categories available to the modelers.
.
"There are four categories, feel free to submit as many entries in any category.
1. Armor kit built out-of-box. This is a tracked armored vehicle with no aftermarket parts; however, stretched sprue antennas and grab rails are allowed. This is to give people with limited budgets or experience an equal opportunity to participate.
2. Armor kit modified. This is a tracked armored vehicle with any aftermarket accessories or scratch built items added. Kit bashed entries fit this category.
3. Other kit built out-of-box. Any type of half-track, wheeled vehicle, fully tracked truck (i.e. RSO), soldier on horseback, wagon, towed artillery piece or other trailer built with no aftermarket parts beyond the stretched sprue.
4. Other kit modified. As above but with aftermarket accessories, conversion kits or scratch built items added.
A vehicle can be displayed as part of a diorama, on a base or by itself. The category will be whatever is done to the vehicle. Dioramas are not judged, but the vehicle on it will be. After all, this is an Armor group build and not a Diorama group build."
In addition, one campaigner posted lists of German and Russian vehicles appropriate for the campaign----pretty useful info.
Good luck on your builds
Steve

Thanks WWH for reminding us all of the rules ...... sometimes remarks start flying and they were there all the time!!
Phantom ........ yeah that little bit of flash is on both vehicles ... I didnt see it until the photographs were taken ... somethng to touch up!!
In fact these kits as you see them are quickly assembled with wheels, turret, machine guns, figure, etc. There are other stuff not shown that would not sit right but is built. I paint in sub assemblies like that as well! The whole gun and seats lift out of the 222 ... I cut the connector to the turret so both will not turn at the same time now. I never bother with moving parts -- there is always a chance it might break at a later date?? The connector wont be seen when finished anyway!
Thanks once again guys for commenting. All the best and good luck with the campaign!!
