Hey Guys,

Here is the AFV LeFH18 OOB except a scratch built handle for the shutter on the gun shield. Now I am off to do my KV II and T50.

Lord Lens:

The last pic is the money shot---WOW! I thought you didn't do dry brushing??????? Pretty impressive work here. Looks like some steel and dunklegelb has been pretty expertly applied to this piece. You've really made the rivets pop on this one also.

UOM--it shows :-) :-) :-) :-)

Definitely one nice gun! Are those decals behind the gun shield?

Is it just me or is the gun not sitting perfectly vertical? Aside from that I don't see anything that needs improvement.

Good job on this very difficult kit Dave! I'd like to see build pictures of it if you have them

That is VERY nice work. The steel effect is very realistic.

Superb wear and tear on the breech, but as Jeepney says, the gunshield, if not the gun itself, is slightly askew.

Try this technique on your breech area. Creating Realistic Metal Finishes
I wrot it some time ago, but it works well 4 me.
Nice model anyway Dave, I've always fancied doing artillery myself.
Now all you need to build is a sci fi model and that will pretty much prove you really can do anything....

That is the strangest plane I ever saw! Those crazy germans, how did they think that would be able to fly.

Lovely model.....the gun and the shield are definately askew though, and since this is constructive comments, it looks a wee bit shiny? Especially the wheels, but great attempt noe the less.

SS-74,

A very nice piece of work here! I have to agree with teacher though in that the colour looks to have quite a sheen - is there still weathering to do here to tone it down a bit?

As you have deployed this in the firing position have you considered a gun crew yet? Dave Parker of AFV Modeller brought an advance copy of the 2 sets of HobbyFan figures for this gun into our club the other week. They are some of the best resin figures I have ever seen and looked superb aroud his unpainted kit.

I actually for once thought this was quite appropriate. Several companies have released gun crews for this model and all are wearing heavy winter gear ... so the shiney/wet look would be awesome in a winter period dio.
Any plans to complete this little beauty with a crew Mr. ArwenIsMineus? Actually quite a tempting little kit ..... wouldn´t mind this myself!
HobbyFan have two crews to dress up this
HF548 FH18 Gun Crew Eastern Front (1) 4 Figures
HF549 FH18 Gun Crew Eastern Front (2) 4 Figures
There is a review of this kit, extra ammo kit, reference books and pictures of the hobbyFan figures on the Perth modelling homeside;

Dave nice work! I can't wait to do mine. Being that I am late getting here to take a look; I noticed pretty much the same critical points as everyone else. I am not going to repeat them. Is the decal markings all they offer with the kit? Again Nice piece of work.

Nice work on the leFH 18 ! I will agree you may have a slight list to the gunshield, but who's to say these things never got damaged in the field ? I like the decals on the bacside of the gunshield. You may want to weather it a bit more, esp the wheels and the spades where they contact the ground. Other then that, great job. Would look very cool with a crew in a small vignette. Keep up the good work !

I think I may pick up one of these kits myself !!

Cheers !

Nice job Dave, I like the metal effect you have done on the gun. A little more weathering will make the little gun perfect. Keep it up!

Nice work Dave, I like the effect around the breach block.

Take care,

Andrew
