I think this is interesting kit even though I will not use it. But Masterbox idea to bring "different models in some way" must be definitely appreciated - just think about the German soldier pissing by the road or Soviet Naval troops.

It's too bad Masterbox doesn't make some vehicles to go with their figure sets, though there are plenty from other manufacturers.
I'm thinking the vignette depicted in this set would look good in the cargo bed of a Steyr RSO.

I think this wil prove to be one MB's more popular sets.

MB shows TREMENDOUS creativity in choosing subject matters. DML has the action segment of the styrene figure market well-covered, but I adore these sets of men & women doing the non-combat things.
Still waiting for a group of German soldiers sitting against the side of a barn or wall or sleeping on their packs. They could call it "Fall out!"

Awesome! It's sets like this that really get the creative juices flowing. The vignette/dio possibilities are endless.
The only thing it's missing is an officer standing in front of the cow, pointing.

An interesting choice of subject matter (I can smell the country air already, at least i am told that is what the smell is) and the texture on the cow looks good as well.

Very interesting, and useful looking set. Lots of possibilities. If they make the cow a standard kit they can come out with individual milking crews for any army.
Match these with the two French resistance guys painting slogans that Jim Rae posted recently. Use the NCO from Dragon's fragile alliance set (that's my cow!), or any number of sets for variety. I add to the chorus that Masterbox is really coming out with some interesting, imaginative and useful sets. I just wish I could paint figures, or at least their faces.
Great nations do not fall because of external aggression; they first erode and decay inwardly, so that, like rotten fruit, they fall of themselves. The strength of a country is the sum total of the moral strength of the individuals in that country.

Since you can't paint figures, I might just have to steal this idea....

Wow! An udderly fantastic release. MB is really milking the dio-in-a-box idea.
Now can anyone provide documented proof of colour schemes on cows of this region before a paint flame war starts!!

Don't forget the scale flies that normally accompanies these "pies"

!!!
Just imagine the "rivet counters" having a field day disputing the "correct" coloration and shading for these "items"

!

Well, according to my extensive research (which for some strange reason I can't find right now) this cow is totally wrong! They were obliviously trying to model a 1943 Texarcadian Holstineiffer shorthorn. But the tail is exactly 2.757854332% degrees F off kilter and 2.98753mm too heavy. The curve of the dorsal horn is completely wrong for a sow, it's actually closer to that of the rooster of this species (if ewe get my meaning).
I can't see anyone buying this kit unless they want to do a lot of scratchbuilding to correct the obvious mistakes!

And, yes, I have actually seen a cow. I even touched one once. But my tape measure batteries were dead so I could not get actual temperature readings at the time.

Yea Bret....I see what you mean. Maybe if we added a few rivets to the cow bell , it would make some of the guys happy. As for the cow paddies well nevermind....probably get censored. Booooooo.....

I agree, and was about to say the same thing. It's almost always Germans we get doing these more "offbeat" things.
Not that I'm complaining, and I'll probably pick it up anyway. It's one of those "might come in useful some time" releases. It looks to be very nicely sculpted.

Hi guys,
Now they have the 'cow'

, nothing to stop them developing some Russian, British, American or civilian alternative figures to 'fit the cow'.
Stil waiting on my British POWs thought
MB are 'Steps Ahead' when it comes to useful generic type figures, I'm looking forwward to their Royal Engineers and the Bantam coming along.
This one will add a lot for the Axis builders through.

Wagon with farmer ,daughter and 2 German troops
Wagon with German medic and wounded troops
Wagon with Nun , kids and US troops ( WIP )
Wagon (no figures)
