Here's my completed T-55. I used a small amount of Eduard photoetch on it. Otherwise, it's out of the box. I used the sand technique for masking outlined in a recent issue of Fine Scale Modeler.

Mark, looks pretty good to me but I'm just a poor aircraft modeler so my opinion may not count much. I like the weathering and track droop. I like how you have one gas drum heavily weathered where the other is not. Almost like one is a new replacement.
One thing that does catch my eye is that it looks a little shiny, especially around the turret area. This may just be the light from taking the picture though.
Nice job.

I meant salt technique, although, I would think sand would work as well.
The gloss look is the lighting. It's a bit more on the matte side than I would like though.
I thought I'd make it look like one fuel can was taken off a different tank painted in the usual green. Something to break it up a bit.

Mark,
Great job with the technique. I will have to give it a go. The FSM article really lays it out well.
Out of curiousity is this an Iraqi vehicle? The only thing that might make it a bit more dynamic is some colorful markings. But that's pretty minor.

Yes it is. The reference I found wasn't showing too much for markings. I have one marking on the other side of the turret.
