Jan,
This is why our email addresses aren't plastered next to our post as they are on some boards. It is so pathetically easy for a mail-bot to go thru most pages and gather addresses this way. Back when the site was new I added the feature where if you allow users to see your email address on your profile page, ONLY logged in users can see this address. Rarely (read never) do spider bots register and login.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi again
This thread seems to be breaking down into those that have a problem with SPAMs and those (like me) who don't know what all the fuss is about...
Surely there's some sort of pattern - some do's and don'ts - that we can all learn from so no-one need be pestered with SPAMs again?
All the best
Rowan

Okay...this has got to be a record. I just checked email after checking it earlier when I got home from work. I had 30 emails. 29 marked SPAM and sent to my trash can and 1 it missed. So 30 emails all junk. No real mail. Geeeese!!!

having used my work e-mail a few years ago, I got invested by spam, but as i never replied, it dwindled over time to about 3 or 4 a day! I was on holidays for 6 weeks this summer and left an OUT OF OFFICE reply. So my account was active. First day back... I had 1346 spam e-mails and 4 work related. I asked I.T. department to install a spam macro on my lotus notes, but each day when I add the new arrivals... 40 - 50 of them... they are all new! So now I have to start blocking domains! Have these ¤%#"&/ nothing better to do? I wonder if there is anybody who actually thinks they are geting a deal and replies sincerily.

I just love reading some of the crap these people put out. I usually reply with a request for them to consume fermented fecal matter and then to expire in a protracted and painful manner.
I sometimes wish I was a super hacker and able to feed the spam networks a viral bomb that would short out everything including the coffee maker and give 'em a super wedgie at the same time. #:-)
yes I also do the same you'd think these people would give up by now as every one knows about it I think its called the nigerian 114 scam if you search the web on it it brings up loads about it and what to do with the emails there is a task force in the US who ask to see the emails as they are trying to track them down belive it or not most of these mails come from government officals this is qwhy it's hard to recover founds stolen by them, as for spam try a program called spam buster it checks your email on the sever and gives you the chance to block/delete it before downloading it download.com is the place to find it just search for spam and it will give a few programs to use
