This is the tamiya m2a2 bradley , with a bit of eduard P E added + the interoir from a old tamiya bradley . The interior will be brought up to a3 standards later . The paint scheme will be 3 tone NATO . I also plan to add a few ground troops exiting the vehicle .

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you're going to update it to "A3" standard, I think you have to remove the swimming-barrier on the frontside.

Gr,

Yep, same deal with the swim barrier support poles under the TOW launcher on the left side of the hull. Also the swim barrier parts that are around the outer edge of the back of the hull as well.

Sorry , typo on my part. I meant to say the interior will be brought up to A2 standards instead of A3. Grey and Sabot, thanks for the info on the swim barriers. (++)

Toad,
Just keep this as is and wait for the new Tamiya ODS kit. Like the other guys said, you have to remove the wading equipment. Plus the dog house cover is the newr type with the sun visor.
Also, the sighting bar that is attached to the gun manlet is supposed to be attached to the main gunand not on the panel next to it. On top of the barrel and lightly to the left, if your looking at it, is a small hole that the expanded rounds eject from. The only thing that elevates on the gun manlet is the barrel and 7.62. There are 3 panels on top of the manlet and a canvas cover.
Check the pictures in ROB's Motor Pool and you will know what I am talking about.

Thanks thanks epi i took a few ref. pics of a brad. at the unit this morning i see what you are talking about on the manlet that will be fun to fix , im still working on the dog house - im a m1a1 tanker so i dont know a lot about a bradley - but due to these 2 kits im learning a lot ! thanks to every one again

Toadman,

Very solid build, and nice PE work. I know nothing about bradley, so I can only comment on the neat workmanship, can't wait to see it finished.

Hey TT,
If you can get it, Concords book on the Bradley is awesome. Great photo's.
I'm like you you when it comes to the M1A1. I work on the Bradley's TOW System, so I've been all up and down a Bradley. But what it comes to the M1, I turn to the guys like you and Rob for correct info on those beast. The closesst I've been to an M1A1 is when one happens to be in the same motor pool as the Bradley's I am working on.
The panels on the Gun mantlet arent that hard to fabricate, just a couple pieces of plastic stock and a couple of hex bolts, and some lead foil for the canvas cover. You can kkep the earlier version dog house and the wading equipment. Some stayed that way and others got the change. I've seen both. While in the 24th, 1/18 and 2/18 INF had the ones like the one in the picture you just should, but just painted desert sand. The only difference was the dog house.

Oh, I forgot!
You also have to pay attention to the back of the launcher. There are 2 types, the one that the kit gives you with 2 locking handles and ther is one with 1 locking handle.
I cant remember which one was first and on which version goes what. Never really payed attention to that. I just cover the back up with the canvas cover.
The launcher with 2 handles locks each tube up individually and the one with one handle in the center locks both tubes up together.

OH, here is another tid bit of info. I've seen a couple of built up articles on the Bradley and there has been several incorrections. When a live TOW tube is placed in the launcher, you can not see the missile at all. It is incased in the tube and on the front end is some type of material that brakes away when the missile comes out. Its like a very hard card board or something. Ive seen a couple of models that show a war head showing , WRONG!!!! So, if there are no tubes, you can see right through the launcher.

Swim barriers were removed per MWO in Summer/fall of 1997...at least thats what happened in my unit in Germany.
