Congrats on your graduation Philip and excellent job on that Flak 36 gun. Is this the Dragon one? I too love what you have done here and I especially like the finish you chose. Could you elaborate a bit in terms of the colors you used to get to where you are on these pictures?

Thanks,

Rob

Love that finish. I just received my DML Flak 1836 in the post this morning.

Going to do the 36 version. Would love to do it that colour, but the kit comes with a nice crew in winter snow outfits. I want to use the crew so I think I'm going to be limited to the Panzer Grey (Eastern Front) options.

QUESTION

I'm guessing yours is a DML. Did you use the metal barrel. If so did you have to drill out the muzzle - the barrels are drilled out but only to a depth of 2 or 3mm which doesn't look enough to me.

Cheers,

Nigel

Philip, Hello. I was thinking of trying to build a 88MM. And after seeing yours, i'm going to. VERY NICE. Congratulations on your educational goal. Not a day at work goes by, that i don't recall the conversation with my parents about education. They basically just said, get an education, so you don't have to work like a jackass all your life. WELL being a teenager, and already knowing everything, i finished highschool, and proceeded to work like a jackass the last 37 years. I spend my days trying to push the next 1500# container up the ramp into the trailer, and being thankful, i'm still able to do it. Way to go Philip. Best of luck to you . RONNY

That looks fantastic. i am beginning to see the attraction of big guns. Do tell us more about the kit and the techniques you used. Fantastic work.

Nice job. Two things, one is 'could be'. The vision port protective cover isn't on it, that could have been removed in the field. The other is the handles would not have been white washed. Two very nit picky things, so good job, keep up the good work.

Nicely done Philip. You've inspired me to put a finish on mine, have the Flak 18 by AFV built, just needs some color. Hope it turns out half as well as yours! Thanks for sharing, and congrats on graduating! Another one of life's milestones behind you.

Cheers -

Tim

Thanks for the comments, I really need to finish this. I have the final parts ready to put on and the dollies (or whatever they're called) built and ready to paint. But with graduating comes work, bills, and a fat student loan that needs to get paid off. Time to build and money for my miniature defense budget are scarce

I'll update when I get a chance to build.

congrats on graduating and welcome to the world of employment and bills... it sucks!

Fantastic model, really well painted and weathered. Looking forward to your defence budget having the space to complete this wonderful model.
