Heya, Folks!
I've just started the Trumpeter 1/72nd scale LCAC...no, not an armor project, but it will have tanks aboard!
The deck looks like it has a non-skid coating on it. Does anyone have any tips for creating the non-skid texture in 1/72nd scale...?
I've used model railroad ballast and Mr. Surfacer in 35th scale armor projects, but have never had to replicate it on a model this small.
Many thanks for any and all help!!
Thanks folks!
Regards and Aloha,
Johnny B.

MR surfacer 1000 or 1200 should work good. Or you could dilute the 500...

Thanks, Herky!
So you're just applying the Mr. Surfacer 1000/1200 right out of the bottle and stippling it on, correct?
Thanks again, H!

You could also use a Rust-Oleum Terra Cotta texture spray. This Armorama Post has info on it. I've tried a few test sprays from a can I purchased at Walmart, and as long as I keep it light, I think it will look fine for even 1/72 scale. Also, your "navy" antislip is usually a rougher texture.
