Hi Folks,

This is my first post on the forum so I hope that I am doing things correctly, if I'm not just let me know.

I am building a PzIV J (Revell) and aim to have it in a urban setting, possibly by a wall of a wrecked church, with a few figures included. Anyway here are the photos of the build so far:

Coming together very well, Paul. Are you using after market stuff? My only concern is that at this scale it's going to be a challenge to paint those roadwheels.

Hi Milvehfan,

Thanks for the kind comment. I will keep posting as I progress with the build, however I have a load of photo-etch to add to the hull yet.

Hi Chicane,

Thanks for the kind comment. Painting is a while off, but I have this test piece from my wargames army to show how it should look.

Hi AJ,

I am using Part photo-etch for the Ausf.J, this includes all the sets, I used the RB barrel and the close defense weapon was from a Voyager photo-etch set. The remainder of the tank is OOB, except for wire and plasticard. I usually paint the roadwheels in situ, it just takes more time and a lot of patience. I have figures to do as well and that will probably delay the final piece, while I sort them out.

Hi Warren,

Thanks for the welcome. If you aren't having fun modelling, then you are doing it wrong! Well that's my philosophy and it sounds like it's yours as well.

All the best,

Paul

Looks nice, very clean and simplistic. I like it a lot, not my preferred scale but might try something like this in 1/35th.

Keep it up mate.

Hi Phil,

Thanks, I reckon the Dragon J would look nice and there is no need for aftermarket with that kit. When mine is finished you will see that you have plenty of options for figures, unlike us Braillers who have to 'make and mend' in the main.

Hi Dani,

The Panzer IV is my favourite too, I hope to cover the whole series in time. That is the long term project, hopefully I will be able to realise it. Thanks for your kind comment.

Hi Martyn,

Thanks for that, I am trying to get all the work on the hull done at the moment and it is very time consuming! Hopefully I will be able to post some more progress shots very soon.

I will have to try and get my hands on one next time I am down the Hobby shop, might even post progress shots when I get it.

How could I have missed this

Good to see you here Paul and that PZ IV looks to become
a real stunner. I am as you know waiting for your paint
to be applied and I'm convinced that it will look the
part since I know what a great painter you are!

Keep up the good work and let me be surprised when we
get back from out little trip.

Cheers and all the best to you and the family!!!

Hi Sven-Åke,

I have only just started posting on this forum, I already feel 'at home' here, so that is pleasing. I am getting on with the hull and figures, so hopefully there will be something else for people to look at soon. Thanks for all your support.

Have a nice trip and enjoy the break. All the best,

Paul

I'm new to the site as well as the forums, and it seems to me that we have a great bunch of people here

We don't have much in the way of aftermarket for 1/72 armor here in the US, so I'm enjoying watching your build.
I may be picking up braille scale sometime here in the near future.

Hi Jeremy,

I agree, the forum is very welcoming with a positive atmosphere. I'm hoping to pick up tips and techniques from the members, as they all seem to be excellent modellers.

You should be able to get aftermarket from Europe ok, I don't know what import taxes you will have to pay, but that can be a negative factor in ordering from abroad. We get 'hammered' here in the UK if we order outside of the EU. Give Braille Scale a go, it's cheap and doesn't take up too much space. As you can see from the posts here, size doesn't mean you have to compromise on detail and finish.

Thanks for the comments, all the best,

Paul
