Holy crap! I'd have guessed about 1000 vehicles before I'd have ever guessed that vehicle would be produced in styrene.

A Dana! Man, who'd a thunk it!

All these attacks on Trumpeter and Hobbyboss, without detailed pics to prove their arguements, are just stupid!

I guess some people think that two kits of the same vehicle are not supposed to look similar! Now that's funny.

Or is it that some people are aftaid of the competition of lower priced plastic kits, and have some personal agenda in play?

In any case, look at it and weep.. whoever you may be.. I really feel sorry for you

SO.. it's not a matter of this kit looking similar to the Panzershop kit, or that you have some proof that they copied it from them. It IS a personal agenda after all.

As far as I know, and legally speaking, the burden of proof usually lies on the prosecution to prove the defendant guilty, and not on the defendant to prove himself inocent.

Like I said above, prove what you say about this kit, beyond any doubt, and people will listen to you. But just throwing allegations around without any real proof is just not productive.

I'm sorry, but that's how I feel about anyone accusing another person of something without presenting any real proof.

I have a technical question, and I hope someone can explaing this to me and correct me if I'm wrong.

If I have a good graphic software application and the right skills.. and I get a Pepsi box, just like the one you copied, and I take all the measurements and draw it using my computer software and then scale it down to 1/35 scale, isn't it supposed to look pretty much identical to the one you copied?

I'm not saying Trumpeter copied yours or not. I don't know. But without any real proof, beyond any doubt, then I'm against throwing accusations around.

And like Rob said, can you show us proof that you paid Pepsi and CocaCola and others for the rights to print their logo?

Sorry if I sound harsh, but it seems lately that everyone wants to accuse Trumpeter and HobbyBoss of copying other kits, without presenting any proof.

Interesting how you seem to avoid answering the important questions.. and that you still haven't shown any prood to your allegations.

This is getting silly!

What's important is that I love this kit and I'll buy it when it's out, as I'm sure a lot of other modellers will. So you can say what you want, that won't change anything.

Enough said on this subject ... I promise

Hisham

Just to clear up a point you made about the Pepsi logo, or indeed any (registered)logo, or name. No matter if you did take the time to redraw the logo yourself you are still copying a registered design. Pepsi own the copyright to that logo and its use in all its varies configurations. You can of course use the logo if you come to an arrangement with Pepsi etc. which usually means royalties in the form of a one off payment/use or ongoing based on volume of sales. Terms and conditions vary depending on the company you are dealing with.

Hey Alan... thanks for your explanation. I understand about copy rights and all that. My question was directed towards the subject of two kits, or printouts, of the same subject ending up looking identical.. or at least similar, to the naked eye. And that without clear detailed pics of certain aspects of the kit, you can't really say it's a copy or not.

I'm not defending Trumpeter or Hobbyboss. I don't know for a fact wheter they copied the kit or not. I mean, theoretically, they could just buy a resin kit off the market and copy it (I mean anyone can buy one online, right?). But we have no proof whether they did or not, and as such, we should not start accusing them of all kinds of things. That's all I'm saying.

NOW......

what I meant with looking better is:

you can probably build it without using a whole tube of putty and a pile of evergreen to replace badly cast parts.

I can't judge about accuracy from 1 picture.

I wrote all the flaws I encountered with this kit in the other topic about the expected Hobbyboss kit
