thanks once again for the kind replies, it means a lot as i just recently got the courage to consider them good enough to share online. here are some details for those who asked for further info:
Snow is Woodland Scenics "Snow - Soft Flake" (SN140) applied initially by sprinkling it thinly over diluted white glue/water. i tried putting it on dry and then the diluted glue but it was hard to control. the best way and how i did get it to do what i wanted was to take a small container (about an ounce/shot glass) mix water and white glue 70/30 then pour in the "snow" until it was a semi-thick slurry. i then scooped out the snow and applied it with a oil paint palette knife.
it could then be pushed around and boot prints pushed in and pushed aside for the track marks. it is slow to cure so you have plenty of time to play around. highly recommend this technique for more than a skiff.
PS: i live in Canada, hence my unfortunate "expert" knowledge of snow
the 1/35 models are as follows:
Dragon Flak 88/36 Premium kit with metal barrel and figure set;
Lion Roar ks750 with sidecar and trailer; and
AFV Cub Leichte Zugkraftwagen 3t Sd.Kfz.11 Late Version.
the figures are a mix of Dragon, Alpine, Wolf and Warriors.
hope this helps people try out a snow diorama as well. cheers.
