I like the elephant and water effects. The dust looks out of place to me. It is not the same color as the base dirt and the surrounding vegitation is too clean and perfect for a dusty road. Also, the vehicle would have to be going too fast for the road conditions to make that much dust. I think it looks better without the dust plooms.

I have to agree with Gino. The rest of the dio is great. I learned a lot regarding water effects, but the dust just doesn't look realistic. It turns a good dio into a school project type thing.

Just my opinion.

The splashing water looks really cool and quite effective and realistic. However I have to agree with Gino and say that the dust looks silly and out of place, sorry to knock it like that but there is not effective way at all to create such effects in miniature that look at all realistic so in my opinion they are best left to the imagination. A dusty vehicle and well positioned figures which give a sense of movement are plenty enough to create the drama and impression of movement. Sadly the dust just looks like a piece of wool thats been sprayed brown. From a distance and with the aid of photoshop i can see the effect being ok, but as a model, up close it isnt effective.

First of all, I like this diorama or better the idea and many of the technical solutions ( if I can say so, i.e. water effects, painting etc.) . I have to agree with Gino for the dust effects, for me just took it away. Another thing that I have to point out is that you are..... too perfect. The trail is perfect straight, the grass in the middle is also all the same colour as a golf court. The trees are perfectly simmetric two big in the back and two small in front on both sides of the trail. The wather effect on the elephant looks really great I like it, but the waves in the pad are perfectly round and all the same height this look a little strange to me.
Anyway this only my point of wiew and I have to do my compliments for the great job.

Yeah, the dust really kills that one. The water is limit already, but ok.
I also don't really like the clean road borders. Using long (and straight) strips of grass all along, as if no grass would try to grow into the road, especially in this area is not plausible.

Cheers
Claude

I agree with the statements about this being a good demonstration. I actually like the dust for the dynamic air it adds to the diorama. I think the overall cleanliness could easily be remedied if you wish to address them, and while the overall composition is questioned here, it does portray and ideal storybook or publicity image so to speak.
