Hi...members.
it`s other one diorama.
I will try to make cleaving water effect with SCALERAMA Splashing Water effect.
I made splashing water effect one year ago. but, scale is too small.
maybe, 1:1250 scale warship.
so, it`s so hard to show splashing water effect, perfectly.
again....i try.
see you!!

Hi..Members!
PBR31 diorama started.
STEP1. make your own Diorama base. i used Acrylic Plate for Base wall.
STEP2. Insert Styroform board into base to save water effect materials.
STEP3. coat SCALERAMA Ground Work Paint Asphalt Road Color.
Why i use Black Color? to make deep water effect.
and we can optain waterproof effect. when you coat SCALERAMA Ground Work Paint, No need to use any of waterproofing materials.
STEP4. Dry all during 3~5 hours.
STEP5. arrange SCALERAMA Water Cube. you can optain Fixing Boat effect,
Bubble effect & saving water effect from Water Cube.
Do not attach Water Cube.
STEP6. make Splashing Water Effect Frame. use Clear PVC Plate or PET
Bottle to make frame. must use Clear Type.
STEP7. bend PVC Plate.
STEP8. attach Bending PVC Plate
STEP9. draw a splashing,cleaving water shape & attach.
STEP10. Put PBR boat on the base.
STEP11. Prepare SCALERAMA 12 Hours Harden Water Effect. Why i use
this one? He has No Shrink, No Yellowing, No Bubble effect. I used 3 Liters for Water effect.
In case of Large amount Water Effect, use this one. hehe.
STEP12. Standard Micture Ratio is Resin : Hardner = 200% : 100%
How to measuring? use Paper CUP. like this.....
Two CUPS of Resin & One CUP of Hardner.
OK.
insert Hardner into empty bottle first.
STEP13. next insert Enamel Red Brown Color again to make Brown
Water Effect.
STEP14. Mixing.
STEP15. insert RESIN all.
STEP16. Mixing again....during 2~3 minutes.
STEP17. Pour Mixed Water Effect Materials into the base.
If you have a plan to use large amount Water Effect materials, remember
this one point. measuring.
If you insert more amount of Hardner than Resin, Shrink and Heat occur.
If you insert more amount of Resin than Hardner, No stiffening occur.
STEP18. dry all over 12 hours.
NEXT i will make Cleaving, Splashing Water effect with
SCALERAMA Splashing Water Effect.
See you!!

Looks great, I'm especially interested in how the water blocks work out...
I would say, however, that the water colour is too brown. The Mekong water colour (if that's what your going for) is more of the colour of coffee with milk. The nearest paint is Model Master Dark Tan (FS30219), or Humbrol Matt US Tan 118.
The foam from the boat propellers (or jet drives) has the faintest pale green tint to it also.
Hope this helps, I look forward to the next update!

Your dio came out great. Good job.
On another note, you can acheive the same effects using fiberglass resin for the main area of water and 5-minute epoxy for the waves and stirred up water. It can also be tinted with enamel paints as well.
Here are a couple examples:
Sorry about the crappy pics. I need to take some updated pics of these.

I really like the effect that you have developed here, my only criticism would be that it looks as if the bow of the PBR is cleaving the water as a larger ship would, something like a destroyer or a battleship. Faster boats like a PBR tend to plane higher in the water, so you really need to have the cleaving pattern further down the hull. That's just my opinion.

Hello Mr. youngbok
Congratulations. It´s a wonderful work. The only thing that I change is the water effects. A small boat like PBR don´t do so many and strong Waves. The concept is brillant. Once again congratulations.
With best regards

WOW... Very nice job with the whole setup. If you can you may want to drill out the ends of the gun barrels.
Once again great effort.

I think this all looks terrific with the water and all the excitement. Looks like they spotted something and are about to open fire. I hate to say anything negative about it but one thing that I did notice is the placement of all those kneeling guys on the stern of the boat. For one thing they are all forward of the 50 cal rendering it useless , unless they themselves wish to have their heads swept by a firing 50 cal. not to mention the tremendous ringing in the ears for being so close to the end of the muzzle. If those boys live through it they will definitely need some serious Tylenol pills for the headache................. ......Al
