Thanks for the review and partial build of this kit Russ! And I'm kinda glad it didn't come with the engine, in situations like these kits an engine seems to add another $15-20.

One question for you, is there a choice of front suspension parts? I noticed the front axle is pre-sprung, which would look funny if you wanted to load the truck up.

Hmmm, perfect for a Saipan dio, but no engine makes having it wrecked a problem. But great to see this sort of thing on the market, as the Pacific gets short shrift from most styrene makers. Good review, Russ.

Jeremy, there is no choice on the suspension parts. You will have to modify on your own to show it loaded.

As for the engine, I have built the AFV club WC series, which were much more complicated than this build, but did include the engine. They cost less than half of what this kit runs for at it's cheapest. I don't know if it is a dollar to yen issue, or some other cause.

Bill, you could always show one that was captured and in use. I have a photo from Luzon which shows several abandoned in a river bed, but in pretty good shape. It looks like they got stuck and left behind.

Japanese products are generally more-expensive because of a complex supply chain and retailing sector. Many Japanese products are being manufactured "offshore," but once into the retail chain, the prices escalate.
