Hey guys,

I've been looking over my info and the MR conversion for this version. I've got two questions:

1) What kind of personal weapons would be carried, and where might they be stored on board, if needed (M16/AK-47 maybe?).

2) As the radio bay has been taken up by a fuel tank, and the radio probably was updated, where would the new radio be located? Codriver/commander's position? Where would the antenna mount be? Same as before, or different?

Text or photos would be helpful. I have the Darlington book.

Cheers

Olaf,

The Ejercito de Guatemala was equipped with primarily FN FAL rifles. The guerillas carried AKs, so that would not be appropriate for a government unit.

I am not sure about the specifics about the M8s they used. Sorry.

Olaf, no problem. I recall seeing lots of FNs when I was there in the 90's. I did read they also had M-16s, I just never saw them. Also saw something which mentioned the use of the Galil.
I have had zero luck in finding out any real info about the ejercito de Guatemala, except they press-ganged village boys for service and were generally pretty bad in the civil rights realm during the 80's. Let us know if you get any other info.

Bob,

Yeah, web searches get more results related to civil rights etc. then anything related to military hardware. Guess they weren't the nicest guys on the block. I'll keep people posted.

Cheers

Olaf
