Two things that pop to my head. The first is space, you have a lot of space for just the crew. You'll have to work to get the extra space filled visual interest or cut it down some.
Second, which could be more concept than anything, the PAK is facing across what looks to be a field. If you rotate it 90 degree to face down the road it could tell a better story. It could tell how it coving an advance down the road. This one is more up to you than anything.

Hi Chad!
Interesting diorama you are working on there.
I agree with Chad on what he points out.
Please keep posting on your progress, being your first diorama, it will be a nice experience!

There is going to be a lot more there than just the gun. There will be more tree's and some bush's, a motorcycle messenger on the road, some ammo box's and maybe a few other items. There will also be some barbed wire running around in front of the gun and some sand bags in front of the gun.

Chad,
Looking good so far, I like the little post fence. My 1st impression was that the base was too big as well until I read what you plan on adding. Keep going looking forward to future post

I have made a little progress. I put a little bit of the grass on so I could get an idea of the colors. The trees still need some trimming and leaves. I used Chiclets gum for the sand bags. Still have a lot more of them to do.

The trees are sun flower roots. I plan to thin them out a little and add some foliage. Not sure what I am going to use yet . I want something with some good detail. I was going to use the same material I am using for the grass but it just didn't look right.

Chad, the Pak 40 is a good choice to start with. Are you going to include a tow vehicle? I'm mainly just curious about it since I have my own pak40 dio in the works. I'm using a captured Universal Carrier as my tow vehicle. And I'm posing it in transit with a Fallschirmjager crew as well as a few hitchhikers. Initially I was going with them "at rest" using the Miniart figure set. But I found a surplus of German paras in my stash.
Anyway, it looks good. I'll be watching to see how it develops.

An RSO? or a small halftrack would look good
If you don't get it right the first time just do it again and again and..... :-)
