Thanks!
Dave,
I've had these two books on my shelf for almost two decades, and your review has prompted me to dust them off for another read! As you say, you'd need very deep pockets to model a whole train, let alone a heck of a long shelf...
What you did not directly mention is that the books give full train consists for various dates in the war (along with known fates) for those who really do have the room for a full train diorama. And they offer pictures and info on various armoured cars that were fitted with steel wheels for rail patrols - truly a modeller's gold mine!
Thanks for the review and the trip to my own bookshelves!
Tom
Thanks for sharing that. If I'm not mistaken, the artillery on the train was the sIG 33?
The only scenes missing from the newsreel are them stringing up the partisans and burning their villages....

I'm not sure if this is one I came across doing the research for this, but there is one you tube that's an excert from a movie (Polish I think) called "The last armored train". I can't access this from work, I'll send the link tonight.![]()
Bill, artillery on BP-42 was 10 cm F.H.14/19 (p) and 7,62 cm F.K. 295/1 (r).
What comes to that newsreel, I believe it´s made completely by german propaganda office.![]()
