Hi Juan

!
Thank you very much for the quick reply

! I'm glad you like it

. My original images are actually in the megabytes pixel range, too big I think to upload here on the site

. I'll try with the completed vignette photos the next time around

. Cheers !

WE WANT BIGGER PICS!!!!
Looks like an awesome diorama in the making Kenneth friend, I just LOVE your pelican and the whole scene.
hey one thing i absolutely love with your work is the continuity of it: animals, beardy cool guys in summer clothes, really a sense of cool throughout what I would call an "oeuvre" (that's French sorry, I can't find the right word for it in English!)

JBA, my friend

!
Thank you very much

! I'm really glad you like it; well, the whole concept is all due to your initial efforts posted here on Armorama (re: your "Birds" SBS

). For that I am really grateful

. Well, the weather in Singapore is always a "scorcher", so perhaps I instinctively like "cool" themes

? Anyhow, just for you and Juan, here are bigger shots of my vignette. Enjoy !

Very cool Kenneth. Lovely little scene. You caught the dock and the details nicely. Any tips on how you roll the green stuff so thinly?

nice scene Kenneth, lots of subtle details that the painting stage will really bring out. i guess besides base colours, washes, drybrushing there will have the be a "bird droppings" paint stage
look forward to seeing this project's progress. cheers, mh.

Hi Frank

,
I'm glad you like the scene so far

. As for tips on how to get the Green Stuff to spread so thinly, try mixing a little Magicsculpt into the mix (it gives it some stability). About 10% ought to do it. Next, roll the mix into a smooth ball and lubricate with some talcum powder to prevent it from sticking to your working surface. Leave it for about 30 seconds and, lubricating your thumb and forefinger with more talcum powder, slowly squeeze it flat. Take your time and coat the thinned Duro/Magicsculpt mix with talcum periodically. Finally, once you're happy with the thinness, spread out the resultant sheet on a flat working surface (lubricated with more talcum powder) and leave for another 30 seconds before working on it to make your clothing, tarps, etc. Hope this helps

. Cheers !

Hi mh

!
Thanks for the encouragement

! Yes, of course there will be a "bird droppings" painting stage

! What's a coastal pier without the bird wastes

?! Any idea if seagull "poop" is the same colour as pigeon droppings ? Cheers !

Great composition, great techniques. Love the whole vignette/diorama.
I don't care for the name, it rings of fast food (to me) and this diorama is NOT fast food quality, it's great. So, I'll keep watching and encouraging your skill, I'll just give it a new name in my head.
Keep us posted on the painting.

Hi Scott

,
Thanks for the encouragement

. The title refers to the imaginary thoughts of the pelican when it sees what the DAK trooper has offered it (a piece of his lunch sandwich)

. I'll think of a new title then if you still feel the current one is not suitable. Cheers !
