Hi MH
That means alot, so thank you for your feedback.
I am now moving on to the real challenge of detailed 1/35, just planning a scene to go along side my Dragon Tiger with porsche turret or Dragon Panther 'D'. Both are premium kits with a huge amount of detail so should be fun.
I also have 4 Verlinden 120mm resin kits to have a go at, and with them being 1/16th I may also try and incorporate a small scene with them too.
Thanks
Dave

Nice one Dave. The work you have done yourself has given this old kit a real lift ... especially the figures. They are well past their best before date, but the new details, make all the difference. This must quite an impressive piece on the shelf.

Hi Frank
Thank you for your kind words.
Having not done any modelling for some 20 odd years, I naively thought the figures from Tamiya would be ok but they looked like 1970's plastic toy soldiers and the metal diecast efforts were also dreadful quality, but with a large amount of tinkering it is surprising (thanks to milliput) what can be acheived and I am pleased with the finish.
There are lots of area's I need to improve on and I will obtain far more realistic pics in the summer but I am happy with my first attempt on my return to this incredible hobby.

Hey Dave,
I'm diggin this build. I have a 1/25 Panther from Academy and did order the Tamiya figures, same ones too. I can see there's going to be some work on thos metal figs. Well, great build and keep er rolling. I need to get mine going. Great work!
Cheers, Ski.

Hi Ski
Thanks for your comments.
1/25 is a nice scale for me so it is a shame there is little in the way of figures to compliment armour in the moddeling world.
I found the Tiger of decent quality but not excellent quality, there are some items that were lacking in detail that I replaced with old coke tin, added the odd cable and chains to make it more interesting but overall it was quite easy to build.
The diecast metal figures are very poor, dremmel will be your freind for some time as you modify these (what I can only describe as ) toy soldiers, but do not be afraid to make your own arms etc to get the balance right, even the original poses look a tad odd.
I'm leaving 1/35 for a while as I have x4 verlinden 120mm troopers to paint but I have also just ordered 2 x stormtroopers (120mm) from here:-
http://www.elgrecominiatures.co.uk/index1.html
The two in question are SS NCO Kharkov 1942/43 Winter and the
German, 6th Army, Stalingrad 1942 figure. Excellent resin cast sculpting with loads of details so I'm going for a winter scene for my next Diorama.
Have fun on your own build fella and please post some pics of the progress.

Hi Nico
Thanks for your support.
I am really looking forward to hitting the next project, just drawing out some plans now and doing some research on scaling bricks and windows as I want to try and make this a bit of a show stopper ( within the limits of my capabilities) I'm thinking Russia, winter scene trooper loking round the corner, other guy awaiting instruction and another figure loading a weapon , just to give the scene intent and expression.
I have ordered 120mm hands and heads and infrantry equiopment + weapons (MP44,MP40 & rifle) and I am having a go at scratch building the rest as I reckon I could make a half decent job ( super sculpey on order)
Happy days, cannot wait to start.
