Having (not unsurprisingly) been the subject of a LOT of discussion in the Forums, these are the first, company-supplied images of the
HobbyBoss model of the ShkH DANA vz.77 in 1/35th scale. The FULL image Report can be seen:

Jim, nice pictures, thx for posting. As I see, this is a nice model.
Most of the details are correct. What I dont understand how could they mess up the side stowage bins near the engine compartment. On the boxart they have it correctly. It will be an impressive addition to any collection.

It really has never been a better time for fans of modern armor! This kit looks fantastic, im sure there will be a few errors that will be spotted, but as a massive and mean looking piece of kit this really will be a pleasure to build and paint.

I remember a few years ago running a News Story on a Dana in Resin which, if my failing memory serves me right, came in at a whopping €300 or so. In styrene, the Dana will now be well-within most modeler's reach.

I think the SF modelers will also be considering this (with the addition of a plasma cannon?)

Yes Panzershop did release a Dana in resin. And yes, the SF possibilities with this are endless!

Yep, the Panzershop Dana is an extremely difficult and nasty kit to build. I got one like 5 years ago for a much more reasonable price. Now I got motivated to finally finish it, I will post some images when it will be in a more presentable shape.

So, which camo and color scheme sounds appealing? Libyan DANAs are probably plain desert sand. It's a shame that some of the Arab regimes are so uptight about people photographing their military vehicles. Some modelers might want to do Polish DANAs serving in Afghanistan, or Georgian ones from the South Ossetian War. Some cool decals would be nice, if anyone's listening, and maybe spare tires, stowage, covers to keep the guns dry and free from dust, etc., the usual aftermarket items, maybe some troops in Warsaw Pact style field gear sitting on the vehicle.
What a huge truck. It's going to take a lot of space.

This is rather exciting. There are very few kits out there right now that can depict vehicles used here in Afghanistan. While down in Ghazni, we used the Poles DANA's to fire a mission for us that turned out to be the first joint NATO firemission in the past 8 years, or so we were told. I'd love to build one of the guns at FOB Ghazni. They put up some pictures of the guns actually firing our mission.

Kudo's to companies like Hobby Boss for stepping up to fill the modern armour void.
Definitely be picking up one of these!
Thanks for the link Steve!

cheers
One of the serious problems in planning against Canadian doctrine is that the Canadians do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligations to follow their doctrine.

I was in the same boat with you guys, expecting another WWII German panzerthingamajig. Glad I looked as this is an awesome surprise!

Regarding those who would want to go the sci-fi route, an STRV-103 would make an excellent companion to this kit.

Cant wait for this one to get released. I agree with the above post's the Panzershop version is just way to expensive. Hope there is plans for HB to do more eastern European Armor.
