Besides having a real Comet around can you recommend any sources, I will save you build as a reference, gan excellent work. I also like the Comet and hope to start them soon.

Hi Tom,
Along with Darren's pics, here are a couple of Comet references:
Toadman's A34 Comet Photo Detail CD

Armor Photo Gallery #20
by Dick Taylor and Chris Hughes
And yes, these are shameless plugs for Comet references that I either produced or were heavily involved in.

Hi,
A good looking Comet. One thing you might like to consider, as you have a stowage bin open, is the fact that the turret ring on the kit hull (and also the corresponding ring on the turret bottom) is too small in diameter. If you look carefully at the pic you have posted you will see part of the turret ring edge in the right hand side of the stowage bin. There was a good article in an issue of Military Modelling dealing with this correction. I have this somewhere so will try and dig it out for you.

Hi There,
Sorry for the delay, my scanner is playing up, I'll get scans to you as soon as I can. One other thing you might like to check are the corners of the loaders hatch next to its hinges, if you look at pics you will see that these are actually rounded, not right angles.

Andy, I will check this out too, and if possible I'll give the hatches more rounded corners. Thank you for this remark !
Sal, thank you, I do the best I can but I know there are small things I didn't notice.
Luckily I have some great forum friends here to help a hand.
I hope you start a topic on your Comet soon.

Andy was right, the loader's hatches have rounded corners but the Legend aftermarket resin turret set did not ! So the Legend guys have to do their homework better next time !!! People spend extra money to make a more accurate model...
I won't change the hatches because the turret is as good as completely finished, I don't want to take the risk of messing things up.
Still some stuff to make but it starts looking like a tank now.

New update.
The photo etched exhaust parts in the kit were way too stiff to create nice curves, so I made mine from plastic sheet and the kit's plastic one piece exhaust. I had to make two but it was an easy thing to do.
The Comet's bird cage gun sight in pe is a nice part ! It needed just a bit of simple detailing.

This one is coming along really well Guy, I'm looking forward to seeing it with paint on. Very nice scratch built detail in places too - keep up the good work.

Just a small update :
Were these spare tracks or an extra armor solution ?
What do you guys think ?

Which punch and die set are you going with?
And that could be intended as extra armor, but judging from that photo it doesn't seem likely that is the case here.

Hmmm.. It would appear that quite a few of us have this kit in their stash..
I waited until the price decreased after its initial release (for once!) and got it for about $25 IIRC. It is slowly rising to the top of my build pile. Just 225 kits in front now..
You may be right, I may be crazy.

Thank you for the opinions guys ! I will add them as spare tracks.
For those who will use the Voyager pe fenders set (!) : don't just follow the instructions but check always reference photo's before you add a part !
This part is glued on the wrong fender, its place is on the right one.
Luckily I didn't mess up my work by removing and replacing these parts !

Did I send you the scans of the Article? I can't recall whether I did or didn't.
