Hi guys,

do you by any chance know about "in action" photos of french Panhard VPS (SOF vehicle based on G-wagen).

There are loads of detailed pictures of a brand new vehicle and also some others taken during testing, I have found none showing the vehicle "in action" (Afghanistan or Africa).

I read somewhere that they have been deployed already with RDP troops in Afghanistan.

Thanks for any answer

Jiri

I am absolutely certain that if there are any that Frenchy knows where to point you.
I have lots of the Dutch Wolf which are kitted out to the max but in all my images I have none designated as French.

Unfortunately Bill, I haven't found any "in action" pics of the VPS (July 14th Bastille Day pics don't count ). As only Special forces units have received them (and only 51 have been ordered), I guess they will not be the most photographed vehicles on the Afghan battlefield

Here are the units that have been equipped with the VPS (maybe this would help to find pics) :
The 1er régiment de parachutistes d'infanterie de marine (1er RPIMA)
The 13e régiment de dragons parachutistes (13e RDP)
The 4e Régiment d'hélicoptères des Forces Spéciales (4e RHFS)
These 3 units constitute the Brigade des Forces Spéciales Terre (BFST = Army Special Forces Brigade)
The Panhard VPS also equip the Commandos Parachutistes de l'Air (CPA).
It has been deployed in Chad by the BFST and in Djibouti by the CPA.

Talking about G-Wagen in Afghanistan, those used by Norway are worth a look too ...

That appears to be the conversion that appears in Model Military International Oct 2010 by the editor Brett Green.

Looks amazing.

Dear all,

thanks for your replies. Actually reading the MMI article made me to think about building one of these beasts.

TO Frenchy: These Norwegians look super cool. I tried to search a few more and it seems they have two versions deployed to Afg. This seems to be the newer one. Sorry for asking but any chance you have some more pics of this vehicle?

Thanks again to all

Hi-Res

That's all I've got for this version, but I've got some pics of the other one (fitted with different wheels and rollbar )
